After its interesting mid-range proposal, Honor is ready to return to the forefront of the top end of the market, with the new Honor 30 Series. The presentation is expected for April 15th but, strange to say, so far the information on their account has been in short supply. The Chinese certification body TENAA took care of the problem and revealed the almost complete technical specifications.
Future Honor smartphones with model codes EBG-AN00, EBG-TN00, and EBG-AN10 can now be found in the Chinese authority’s database.
For the former two, the resolution of the main camera is multiplied by 40MP, and for the latter by 50MP. So it may be that the first two are Honor 30 base models and the last Honor 30 Pro, although so far there is no certainty as to how Honor will name its novelty. Each has a 32MP front camera.
An earlier leak image already confirmed the 50MP main camera with the Sony IMX700 sensor. This is apparently 1 / 1.28 inches or even larger than what was seen on Huawei P40 phones. In addition, there was a mention in the camera area of Octa PD autofocus. This is a new, even faster technology for focusing operation.
The Honor 30 series in the picture saw three other cameras, one of which has a periscope structure. So the phone may have a 5x optical zoom camera like the P40 Pro. The periscope design allows for greater zoom as part of the thickness of the camera. While keeping the phone in check. The other two cameras are likely to be the ultra-wide-angle camera and the macro or depth camera.
According to a previous revelation
The Honor 30 series would have three cameras: a 50MP main camera with a Sony IMX 7xx series sensor. And a 2.24-micron pixel size combined with four pixels, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 2.8-micron pixel size plus four pixels combined, and an 8MP telephoto. TENAA does not now disclose further information about the cameras.
Instead, it reports the dimensions of all three different model codes. That appeared in the database as 160.3 × 73.6 × 8.63 mm and weighing 186 grams. In addition, the entire trio would appear to have a Kirin 990 5G SoC, with a clock speed of 2.86 GHz. This Processor also brings 5G network support to the phones.
Other recovered data include an on-screen fingerprint reader, 128 or 256GB of internal storage, an NM Card slot, and a 6.57-inch display with a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio of 2340 × 1080 pixels. The amount of optical zoom is all multiplied by 5x. And the minimum capacity of the battery is 3900mAh, which means that the typical capacity reported is probably 4000mAh.
The Honor 30 Series will initially be unveiled to the Chinese market on April 15th, and there is no information yet on a wider international launch.
