LeoVegas The King Of Mobile Casinos

Brady CottonBy Brady CottonJune 26, 2020

Mobile betting is the future of online gambling, and that future is now.

The 2019 Gambling Industry Report conducting by internet security consultants Iovation showed just how mobile the online betting world has grown to be. The study, which was based on data obtained from 518 million transactions conducted by more than 100 gambling operators and betting platforms indicated that 70% of all online betting moves were made with a mobile device.

Over a six-year span from 2012-18, a steady growth was displayed in the usage of mobile devices to make bets, whether it be on a sporting event, in a poker room, or through an online casino.

From 2011-12, the annual growth rate of mobile betting transactions was barely 6%. By 2018, that percentage increase had skyrocketed to 95%. Players aren’t just using their smartphones to gamble, they’re also utilizing them to pay for their online gambling via financial transactions into betting accounts.

    Booming Business

At the East Coast Gaming Congress last year in Atlantic City, N.J., industry analysts projected that over the next 10 years, mobile betting will have ramped up to 90% of all transactions.

Since sports betting was legalized in New Jersey two years ago, the state has handled $3 billion in bets, with 80% of those wagers being played by someone who was online. Sportsbooks operated by DraftKings and FanDuel, two companies that were originated to enable people to partake in daily fantasy sports over their mobile devices, were handling 83% of New Jersey’s betting action.

Entities such as LeoVegas, an online casino designed specifically to be played on a mobile device, are also booming. Swedish-owned LeoVegas showed a $6.78 million operating profit in 2019.

    Going Mobile

The world has gone mobile in a big way. It’s hard to find someone walking the street without a smartphone in their hand. As the quality of both smartphones and WiFi access continued to improve, the move to a mobile lifestyle was inevitable.

This prophecy also held forth in the online betting business. The convenience of being able to bet on an event or play a casino game no matter where a person was located is a vital component in the mobile betting explosion. You can check new-casinos not on Gamstop here.

In the betting world, information is king and a smartphone enables someone to stay on top of the latest developments in an event on which they are planning to place a wager. If there are any changes of news in a match of interest from a betting standpoint, players can arrange to be notified on their mobile device via email, SMS and push notifications.

It’s also an easy process for players to transfer money to their online betting account via their smartphone.

    Smartphone Vital For In-Play Wagering

With a reliable web service and smartphone, there’s no way that live or in-lay wagering could have exploded in the manner that it has over the past few years.

Along with information, the other quality a bettor lives for is non-stop action. That’s the adrenaline rush that live betting provides to a player.

Betting on individual outcomes within a match keeps the action flowing from the first touch of the game through the final buzzer. Who will score the next goal, run, touchdown or basket? Will the next pitch be a ball or strike? What will the next outcome be in a game?

Via an endless stream of in-play prop wagers, bookmakers can keep bettors putting money down on a game throughout the game. But none of these rapid-fire betting markets could work if it weren’t for the ability to access these betting sites via a person’s mobile device.

    LeoVegas Sets The Tone

While all betting sites now offer easily downloadable mobile apps, several online sportsbooks and casino sites have adapted or modified their online sites to make them more mobile-friendly. LeoVegas was going mobile from the moment they launched within the online casino industry.

When they began their company in 2011, LeoVegas co-founders Gustaf Hagman and Robin Ramm-Ericson set out to build a product that was first and foremost designed to be as mobile friendly as possible. They are pioneers in their field and continue to push the company forward today.

The mobile apps at LeoVegas weren’t going to be accessories. They were going to drive the business, because everything in the LeoVegas online casino was going to be predicated around working seamlessly with mobile devices.

LeoVegas was voted Mobile Operator of the Year at the 2020 EGR Nordic Awards. But LeoVegas has shown an ability to be a industry leader and trendsetter in mobile betting since the company first began offering casino games on mobile devices in 2012.

In 2014, LeoVegas was noted the Best Mobile Product of the Year by the EGR Nordic Awards. They were named mobile operator of the year in 2016 and awarded for the “The Best Mobile Marketing Campaign of the Year” and “Best CRM Campaign of the Year” the same year.

This emphasis on staying atop the mobile game, coupled with the COVID-19 pandemic helped to create the perfect storm to provide a further boost to the LeoVegas market share.

While many industries, including online sports betting, took a hit during the coronavirus outbreak, COVID-19 created an uptick for LeoVegas.

LeoVegas reported a solid boost to earnings during the first quarter of 2020. Revenue jumped by 4% over the same period during the previous year. This productive start to the year continued into April. LeoVegas showed a 23% increase in revenue compared to April 2019.

These numbers are a continuation of a strong end to 2019 for LeoVegas, which showed a 28% increase in revenues over the final quarter of last year.

Going mobile is the way of the future for all online gambling sites. LeoVegas figured that out years ago.
