Xiaomi has listed its new Mijia Night Light 4 on JD.com in China, shortly after the product entered crowdfunding. The upgraded night light is scheduled to officially go on sale on September 22, with a starting launch price of 69 yuan.
The Mi Home Night Light 4 focuses on automatic illumination in dark environments. It also fits into Xiaomi’s wider range of smart home devices, which are designed to add simple automation to everyday household tasks. It combines improved motion detection with adjustable brightness, multiple installation options, and a rechargeable battery designed for extended use.
24GHz Radar Improves Motion Detection
One of the biggest upgrades is the built-in 24GHz radar sensor, which is designed to detect human movement more accurately than the previous generation.
The sensor provides a 120-degree detection angle. Its front detection range reaches up to 3 meters, while the side detection range extends to approximately 2.5 meters.
When the surrounding environment becomes dark, the light can automatically turn on when movement is detected. After the person leaves the detection area, the light can remain on for around 10 seconds before switching off automatically.
This setup is designed for situations such as getting out of bed at night, walking through a hallway, or entering a dark room without having to reach for a switch.
Soft Lighting Designed for Nighttime Use
The Mi Home Night Light 4 uses a diffused-lighting design to create softer illumination. Instead of shining directly toward the user, light is emitted from the rear of the unit and reflected off the wall, helping spread the illumination more evenly.
Xiaomi also states that the light uses a flicker-free design and meets the RG0 blue-light hazard classification. Its warm-toned illumination is intended to remain comfortable when viewed in a dark environment.
Up to 8 Months of Battery Life
The night light is equipped with an 800mAh lithium battery and a low-power control system.
Depending on the brightness setting, Xiaomi claims the battery can last for up to three months in the highest-brightness sensor mode. At the lowest brightness setting, the claimed runtime increases to as much as eight months.
The built-in battery can be recharged through a USB Type-C port, eliminating the need to replace disposable batteries. The use of USB Type-C charging also makes it easier to integrate the night light into a household charging setup.
Four Brightness Levels
Users can choose between four brightness levels: 1, 3, 5, and 15 lumens. The light also supports two operating modes, allowing users to switch between continuous illumination and motion-sensing operation.
The maximum 15-lumen output is designed for practical nighttime tasks such as getting up, walking around the bedroom, or navigating a hallway. Lower brightness settings can provide more subtle illumination when stronger light is unnecessary.
Three Installation Options
Another feature of the Mi Home Night Light 4 is its flexible mounting system. The light supports magnetic mounting, adhesive installation, and hanging.
The included base has an adhesive backing that can be attached to a wall, while the light itself attaches magnetically to the base. Xiaomi has also added a hanging piece that allows the unit to be suspended from hooks in places such as bathrooms or wardrobes.
This gives users more freedom to position the light according to different rooms and household layouts.

The Mijia Night Light 4 is priced from 69 yuan for its initial launch in China and is scheduled to go on sale on September 22.
