In addition to the Pixel 5, Google will soon also release the Pixel 4a 5G. Various images of smartphones are now circulating on the Internet. Most of these are rendered models based on current rumors. But a photo is already in circulation, which shows the Google Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G side by side.
You can find a tweet further above that contains the image (and other screenshots) and was originally posted on Reddit, according to 9to5google.
Accordingly, the two smartphones look very similar: The design, however, differs in size. The slightly larger Pixel 4a 5G presumably has the same camera structure as the Pixel 5. Both devices should also have a fingerprint sensor on the back – and a jack for headphones.
In addition, the leak expert OnLeaks aka Steve Hemmerstoffer rendered both smartphones and published both images and 360-degree views. Above this article, you can find the corresponding YouTube video for Pixel 5, which Hemmerstoffer made in cooperation with Pricebaba.
At the bottom is the video for the Pixel 4a 5G, which the leak expert-created with the support of 91mobiles. The Pixel 4a 5G should offer a display with a diagonal of 6.1 inches and be almost 154 mm long. The screen of the Pixel 5 should measure 5.7 or 5.8 inches. The length of the smartphone is reportedly 144.7 mm. In the 4a 5G, the display can offer a refresh rate of 60 Hz, in the Pixel 5 even 90 Hz.
There is also a difference between the two devices in terms of the battery: The Pixel 5 should have a capacity of 4000mAh and can be charged wirelessly, as can be seen from the screenshots. The Pixel 4a 5G, on the other hand, only has a 3800mAh battery despite the larger display. Both smartphones are reportedly powered by the Snapdragon 765G. This is a mid-range chipset from Qualcomm. In the Pixel 5, there is presumably 8GB of RAM, in the Pixel 4a 5G only 6GB of RAM.
Pre-orders for the Pixel 4a 5G should be possible from October 8, 2020. This date was already being discussed for the Google Pixel 5. The price for the release is supposed $500. The Pixel 5 could cost $700 at launch. By comparison, the Pixel 4 XL started out at $900. We’ll probably find out what the rumors are in a few weeks. However, Google has already presented the Pixel 4a without 5G.
