A few days ago, Oppo A55 5G was launched in the Chinese market as the latest smartphone from the company. The Oppo A55 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC and a large 5,000mAh battery.
Now, it is reported that OPPO A55 5G will be on sale in China today at 10 o’clock and its price will be 1599 yuan (around $249) for the lone 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option, but the buyer can get 100 yuan ($16) off on reservations. So the final price will be 1499 yuan (about $234) and the phone is up for grabs via several online retailers in China including JD.com and there are two Brisk Blue and Rhythm Black color options.
Oppo A55 5G specifications
Coming to the specifications, the Oppo A55 5G features a 6.5-inch HD+ (720×1,600 pixels) LCD with a waterdrop-style notch. The phone has an 88.7 screen-to-body ratio, a 60Hz refresh rate, a 71% NTSC color gamut, a 269ppi pixel density, and 480 nits of peak brightness.
One of the biggest highlights of OPPO A55 is that it is equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 700 chip. This is the industry’s first Dimensity 700 model and the latest Dimensity 5G SoC launched by MediaTek. This SoC paired with 6GB of RAM and the internal storage is listed to be 128GB with the option to expand storage further (up to 1TB).
As for imaging, the Oppo A55 5G has a triple rear camera setup that includes a 13MP main sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, and an additional 2MP portrait camera with an f/2.4 aperture.
Rear camera modes include Night Scene, Professional, Panoramic, Portrait, Time-Lapse, Slow Motion, Super Text, Ultra-Clear, and more. The phone also supports up to 10x digital zoom. Upfront, it has an 8MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. Selfie camera shooting modes include Panorama, Portrait, Night Scene, Time-Lapse, AI ID Photo, and more.
Lastly, the Oppo A55 5G measures 163.9 x 75.7 x 8.4mm in dimensions, weighs 186g, runs ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11, and is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W charging. According to the official, the handset is fully charged and can be used for a whole day. When the power is 10%, turn on the super power-saving mode, and you can chat on WeChat for about 159 minutes or talk for about 173 minutes.
