Today (March 6), OPPO quietly launched a new A-series smartphone called OPPO A94 in the United Arab Emirates. The smartphone is now listed on the company’s website with full specifications.
The device has a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a panel having a hole in the upper left corner. It offers a Full HD + resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a smooth refresh rate of 60 Hz, a tactile sampling rate of up to 180 Hz, a pixel density of 409 PPI, a DCI-P3 color gamut of 92%, and a brightness of 430 nits. The panel features a 90.80% screen-to-body ratio. It has a slim profile of 7.8 grams and weighs 172 grams.
The OPPO A94 has a 32MP front camera that supports features such as time-lapse, selfie beautification, night mode, and portrait mode. It can shoot 1080p video at 30fps with EIS support. The large camera island on the back of the device boasts a 48MP main lens, an 8MP wide-angle lens with 119-degree FOV, a 2MP macro, and a lens for taking photos with active bokeh.
There are many interesting software features such as portrait mode, time-lapse, panorama photos, Night Mode, EIS, 4K video clips at 30 fps, and 1080p slow-motion videos at 120 fps.
Under the body, we find the MediaTek Helio P95 chipset, combined with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM. The phone comes with 128GB of UFS 2.0 memory and has a slot for memory expansion using microSD cards. The device is backed by a 4310mAh battery which supports 30W VOOC Charge fast charging.
The terminal works with the Android 11 operating system based on ColorOS 11.1. It offers other features like Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, USB-C and has an in-screen fingerprint sensor and 3.5mm audio jack.
The OPPO A94 is expected to be renamed Reno5 F in some markets such as Kenya. In India, the same device is expected to be launched as the F19 on March 8 in international markets (including us, probably). It is available in two colors such as Fluid Black and Fantasy Purple and its cost is around $299.
