Microsoft’s Surface Laptop 4 is expected to go on sale in the next few weeks, and for that to happen, the device will need FCC approval.
The FCC has approved four of Microsoft’s new devices, the C3K1979, C3K1958, C3K1952 and C3K1950, for sale in the United States, WindowSlatest reported today.
The devices are expected to be different versions of Surface Laptop 4, weighing 1.3kg each, close to the 1.26kg of Surface Laptop 3 and a stark contrast to the 550g Surface Go 2 and Surface Book 2(13in), which weigh 1.53kg.
While the actual laptop hasn’t been leaked, some key details about the device have already emerged, including:
Surface Laptop 4 13-inch will be available in Intel and AMD processor versions
The Surface Laptop 4 15-inch will be available in Intel and AMD processor versions
Microsoft will use AMD Ryzen 5 4680U and AMD Ryzen 7 4980U processors. As usual, Microsoft will use the “Surface Edition” version of these processors. The AMD version will offer up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of SSD.
Microsoft will use Intel Core i5-1145G7 and Intel Core i7-1185G7 processors. The Intel version will support up to 32GB of memory and up to 1TB of storage.
