Best budget vacuum: The iRobot Roomba 675 and Yeedi k650 robot vacuum

If you haven’t owned any robot vacuum before, it will come as a pleasant surprise to know that robot vacuums are a blessing to people who don’t want to vacuum their house every single day. They automate the process of vacuuming your floors, and you don’t even have to worry about recharging them as they conveniently return to their charging docks. They keep your house neat, take care of all the crumbs and bits of food you might be dropping on the floor, as well as the allergens that make you sneeze all the time.

In the word of robot vacuums, the iRobot Roomba is a household name known to most people. If you have looked into robot vacuums or have owned one before, you have definitely heard of iRobot Roomba, as they frequently trend on the amazon bestselling page.

This article will look at these two budget robot vacuums and what each of them has to offer.

    1 Yeedi 650 Robot Vacuum

Vacuum robots that have high-end features and smart mapping features are fantastic to have, but not all people can afford one. If you are someone who doesn’t want to drop upwards of 500$ on a cleaning robot, then many cheap options get the job done without breaking the bank.

Yeedi 650 is one of them, being one of the cheapest cleaners we have tested in a while. Despite its price, it features a massive 800ml dustbin, more than two hours of battery life, 2000pa suction power, additional silicone tangle-free brush to take care of pet hair, a smart app, and voice control while coming at a sub-200-dollar price point in Amazon.

The absence of smart mapping causes it to not know where it is, there are no turbo boosts, no LIDAR, but it is to be expected given the low price. What’s good about the vacuum robot is that it’s extremely quiet when you set it to quiet mode hovering at the sub 50Db noise level. Even at standard mode, the noise isn’t as noticeable and is one of the quietest cleaners we have tested this year. It also has four suction levels and can reach areas due to its climb threshold being over 0.71 inches. You can also use Wi-fi to control the vacuum robot through the app or through a home assistant like Alexa.

    Specs:

    • Run per-charge- 130 minutes
    • Capacity- 800ml
    • Weight- 17.76lbs
    • Noise- 56dB on quiet mode
    • Suction power- 2000pa
    • Voice control- Amazon Alexa.
    • Filtration capability- Approximately 99% of dust mites and allergens
    • General Warranty: 1 year

Performance: For the price, Yeedi k650 does a great job with its 2000pa suction power. It’s not the best, but it’s not bad either. Given it’s an affordable model, one might not expect it to do a good job at cleaning. However, they would be pleasantly surprised as it quickly gets into corners and does a thorough vacuuming while avoiding obstacles pretty intelligently, even without a smart map. The low-profile design cleans under sofas, beds, and furniture, where dirt easily hides. The floating wheel easily climbs over doorsills for room-by-room cleaning.

From carpets to thick rugs to hard floors, the transition it made was pretty flawless, and even without the inclusion of boundary strips, the robot did things neatly on its own. The built-in sensors are to thank for the intriguing avoidance of collisions of this machine.  The main selling point of this one is definitely its quiet characteristics. When and if it is stuck, it also sends you messages on your phone to let you know. If the robot is out of sight and becomes hard to find, it can even call out its location.

    Pros:

    • Huge 800ml bin
    • Extremely quiet
    • Good obstacle detection
    • It can be used through Alexa

    Cons:

    • The app can be better
    • Magnetic strips aren’t included
    • No Google Assistant support

    2 iRobot Roomba 675

As mentioned earlier, Roomba is a well-known name for people looking to get a robot vacuum, but the price can set off many people, especially the $1099 Roomba s9+ goes to show how expensive these things can be. However, with the inclusion of their sub $270 Roomba 675, you do not have to break your bank to own a Roomba.

Roomba is well known for its excellent build quality and performance; fortunately, this is also true for its entry model, Roomba 675. There are a lot of similarities between the Roomba 675 and Yeedi 650. The main differences are Roomba comes with dual brush rolls, which makes it more capable of vacuuming the carpets. It’s actually one of the best robot vacuums if your house is covered with carpets. However, the bin capacity is much lower than the Yeedi at 350ml compared to the massive 800ml.

    Specs:

    • Run time per charge- 90 minutes
    • Charging time- 2-3 hours
    • Suction Power- 600pa
    • Weight- 11.8lbs
    • Noise level- 62dB
    • Voice control- Amazon Alexa, Google assistant.
    • Filtration capability- One of the best within the price range for carpets.
    • General Warranty- 1 year

You might have noticed the comparatively lower suction power of Roomba, and it might be of concern as very few vacuum robots come with such low numbers, at least on paper. But the thing with Roomba is that the dual blade design actually helps it work just as efficiently with the lower suction power. Even though the suction power may not be that high, it mitigates most of the issues associated with the lower pressure. However, if your house mainly consists of hardwood or floor, going for the Yeedi would be preferable because of its higher suction capabilities.

    Pros:

    • Good obstacle detection
    • Sturdy
    • Great for rugs and carpets
    • Dual brush

    Cons:

    • Small container
    • Low suction power
    • Loud

    3 Conclusion

Roomba and Yeedi are both great options for the price. They provide fantastic value, and although Yeedi is cheaper than the Roomba, it does excel in some areas, whereas Roomba excels in others. All in all, if a significant portion of your house is covered with carpets or rugs, then Roomba would be a much better option. If you have hard flooring for the most part, then opt for the Yeedi.
