After releasing Android 13 in August, Google is now offering a version of Android 13 Go for lower-end phones.
The Android Go version has been around for five years, and there are more than 250 million monthly active devices running some form of Android Go with low-end chips and limited memory and storage capacity.
Android 13 (Go version) focuses on reliability, usability and customization, Igeekphone has learned. Starting with this release, Google Play system updates are available for Go devices, enabling phones to receive important software updates in addition to the main Android release.
The Google Discovery feed, which users can find on the left side of the home screen on Android, will debut on Go devices. Also available is the Material You design language, which was previously limited to non-Go versions of Android devices but is now being rolled out to Go devices.
Users can design the phone’s entire color scheme based on the wallpaper. It’s not automatic, though — when the user sets the wallpaper, the system is given four color schemes to choose from.

In addition, some key features introduced in Android 13, such as notification rights and app language preferences, will also make it to the Go version. Google says new devices running Android 13 (Go) will be released and available in 2023.
