According to reports, Xiaomi’s choice to cancel MIUI14.5 was driven by its commitment to enhancing the MIUI experience further. MIUI 15 is expected to be a completely new system version, promising significant advancements in user interface, animations, fluidity, security, and battery power consumption. The development version of MIUI 15 (MIUI-V23.5.22) has already appeared on the Xiaomi update server, indicating progress is being made. The compilation of this version was completed on May 22. Currently, Xiaomi hasn’t officially announced the exact release date for MIUI15. However, based on insider information and speculations, it is anticipated to be rolled out to users in December this year. The latest models, such as the Mi 14 series and Redmi Note 13 series,s will likely come pre-installed with MIUI 15. However, the compatibility status for older models is yet to be confirmed, and it’s rumored that around 45 models will not be eligible for an upgrade.
Notably, Xiaomi has streamlined the MIUI development mode by maintaining only two versions: the development and official versions. This change allows users to switch between versions without losing data, offering greater convenience and flexibility.
