Xperia 1 VII mobile phone exposure: 1/2 inch outsole telephoto, 19.5:9 slim screen

Igeekphone, April 1 news, source spektykeles published a blog post yesterday (March 31), reporting that SONY Xperia 1 VII may usher in a major camera upgrade. According to the news, the new machine or equipped with a 1/2 inch outsole telephoto sensor, another rumor suggests that SONY or restart the Walkman brand, may launch a music phone or upgrade the audio function of the application.

    Upgrade the camera

Sources say the new machine may use a 1/2-inch outsole telephoto sensor, which is larger than the 1/3.5-inch Exmor RS sensor of the previous Xperia 1 VI, and the image quality is expected to be significantly improved. If true, it would be one of SONY’s biggest hardware upgrades in recent years.
Earlier this month, it was reported that SONY is developing more than 200 million and 100 million pixels of high pixel sensors, the future or applied to the Xperia series flagship models. Combined with this telephoto upgrade rumor, SONY seems to be strengthening its mobile phone photography advantage through hardware iterations. The move may be a response to the increasingly fierce video competition in the smartphone market.

As previously reported by Igeekphone, the configuration estimates for SONY’s Xperia 1 VII mobile phone are as follows:

The 6.5-inch 4K OLED display has a refresh rate of 120Hz, and the screen ratio is the same as the previous generation Xperia 1VI, which is 19.5:9

The processor is upgraded to the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which offers 12/16GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage options in terms of memory and storage space

In terms of cameras, the rear lens is equipped with a 48 megapixel 1/1.35 inch main camera, 12 megapixel 1/2.3 inch ultra-wide Angle, 12 megapixel 1/2.3 inch hidden telephoto lens, and 12 megapixel front lens

With a 5,000mah battery and a 30W fast charge, the family inherited 3.5mm headphone jack and dual speakers of the Xperia 1 series are also retained

The price forecast is $1,399 (current exchange rate is about 10,160 yuan) and is expected to be released in May 2025

    Resurrected Walkman brand

In addition to the camera upgrade, the whistlemaker also captioned the SONY Ericsson classic “liquid energy” logo “Welcome back, Walkman”, leading to speculation about the return of the Walkman brand. Industry speculation is that SONY may launch a music phone or add Hi-Fi audio capabilities to existing music applications. Details are not yet clear, but the movement of the Walkman classic IP has already aroused the attention of nostalgic users.

    Phone case exposure

Images of the protective case of the SONY Xperia 1 VII have recently appeared on the official website of wholesaler TVCMALL. By comparing the protective shell design of the same brand Xperia 1 VI, you can confirm that the screen aspect ratio of the new machine is still 19.5:9, continuing the slim screen shape of the previous generation.

A side-view comparison shows that the rear camera bulge of the Xperia 1 VII is significantly larger than that of the Xperia 1 VI. Combined with previous Revelations, the new telephoto lens sensor size will increase, which directly leads to module volume expansion.
