Recently, a digital blogger disclosed that the launch progress of the Huawei Mate 80 series has significantly accelerated. It may make its official debut as early as October this year, which is much earlier than the industry’s previous expectation of November to December.
It is understood that the parameter configuration of the new Huawei Mate 80 series has been widely exposed before. This device is expected to be the first to launch the new generation of Kirin chips, achieving a performance leap through architecture optimization.
Early tests show that its CPU energy efficiency and GPU rendering capabilities have improved by approximately 20% compared to the previous generation, providing a hardware foundation for the deep collaboration of HarmonyOS.

In terms of imaging, the entire series may be equipped with the domestic Starlight SC595XS 50-megapixel main camera sensor, based on the 28nm+ stacking process, and support physical variable aperture technology.
The Huawei Mate 80 series may also feature advanced heat dissipation technology. The high-end version will adopt an integrated active cooling system for the first time. Through ultra-thin fans and air duct design (DECO side integrated air intake and exhaust ports), it can solve the heat generation problem in high-performance scenarios, and the heat dissipation efficiency is increased by 30% to 50% compared with traditional solutions.
In addition, supply chain sources said that the Mate 80 series will adopt 1.5K resolution straight screens across the board, offering two versions of 6.74 inches and 6.85 inches, with an emphasis on an extremely narrow bezel design.
The Huawei Mate 80 series product line is expected to include four models: Mate 80, Pro, Pro+ and RS Porsche Design, with a starting price possibly exceeding 5,000 yuan.
If the new model is really launched in October, it will directly compete with Apple’s iPhone 17 series (expected to be released in September).
Huawei’s acceleration this time is closely related to the improvement of the maturity of its domestic supply chain and the optimization of the adaptation efficiency of HarmonyOS.
