Igeekphone News, December 17th: Apple is working on finalizing the design plan for its flagship iPhone series next year. A new report claims that the highly anticipated iPhone Fold may adopt a unique shape, with the width of its internal screen being greater than its height.
According to the previous news from blogger @Digital Chat Station, Apple’s wide-fold phone adopts the side fingerprint Touch ID. Shortly thereafter, The Information magazine released a comprehensive overview report of new iPhone models in the coming years. This report not only corroborates most of what @Digital Chat Station disclosed, but also further clarifies a key feature of the iPhone Fold: the shape and size of the screen.

Consistent with The Information from @Digital Chat Station, The Information magazine predicts that the outer screen size of the iPhone Fold will be approximately 5.3 inches and the inner screen size will be approximately 7.7 inches. But most notably, this new report points out that this size design will make its inner screen appear “wider than higher”.
Igeekphone noted that the report states: “Unlike other foldable phones launched by Samsung and Google, the screen ratio of this Apple product when unfolded will be similar to the landscape mode ratio of Apple’s large-screen iPad, that is, it will be wider than it is higher when unfolded.” When the phone is folded, the screen size is approximately 5.3 inches. When unfolded, it is equipped with a larger 7.7-inch screen. Like the iPhone 18 Pro series models, this mobile phone will embed a front camera in the upper left corner, and it is also equipped with a light sensor, a distance sensor and various other sensors.
The two major smartphone rivals of Apple in the US market, Samsung and Google, have launched foldable screen models that still maintain a ratio of height to width even when unfolded.
