According to Mynavi News, Japan Tobacco Inc. (JT) stated that the company has entered into a joint partnership with Japanese musician Ichiro Yamaguchi to launch five joint front panels and two joint smoking accessories for the heated tobacco device “Ploom AURA”, and will gradually introduce these products to the market through limited releases and lottery activities.
The report indicates that JT plans to start a limited release of two joint front panels starting from January 27th, namely “Ploom AURA Front Panel Yamaguchi Ichiro LIMITED EDITION” (Ploom AURA Joint Front Panel by Yamaguchi Ichiro (Limited Edition)). The suggested retail price for each is 1,980 yen (approximately 12.5 US dollars).
The product will go on sale at 10:00 on January 27th on the CLUB JT online store, and will also be sold simultaneously in Ploom Shops across Japan (Ginza, Nagoya, Namba, Tainan); for offline purchases, a CJT membership certificate is required. JT stated that this collaboration is part of its “Ploom AURA” promotion project “SENSATIONAL”.
In addition to the publicly available products, JT will also launch a lottery event within the “SENSATIONAL” project on the Ploom CLUB website. The prizes include three exclusive joint front panels ‘Copper Green’, ‘Gold Jie’, and ‘Rosewood’ that are only distributed through the lottery, as well as two joint smoking accessories: the Kaichangtang joint smoking cartridge storage box, and the Shangchuang Chang Youwumen kiln joint smoking cartridge tray. The event period is from January 19th to February 28th; the prizes are expected to be sent out successively starting from March 2026, and do not include the Ploom AURA device itself.
At the same time, JT will release a joint video content featuring the appearance of Yamaguchi Ichiro himself. It is planned to be broadcast on Internet TV platforms such as Abema, TVer, as well as on Ploom’s official Instagram, in Ploom stores across the country, and in some smoking areas. Starting from January 27th, the video shooting props will also be on display for a limited period at the Ploom Store in Ginza.
