Igeekphone reported on March 31st that multiple sources have disclosed suspected screen photos of iPhone 18 Pro. The photos show that Apple has further reduced the size of the “Dynamic Island” on the new model, thereby minimizing visual distractions and increasing the screen-to-body ratio.
The Source account “Early Apple Leaks” was the first to release related photos, claiming that the entire lineup of iPhone 18 comes with this new small-sized notch design.
Regarding this spy photo, another source, Majin Bu, provided a detailed technical analysis. He stated that Apple has ingeniously moved the infrared sensor to the lower part of the display area on the left top corner of the screen.

Since the light-emitting components are easier to be concealed beneath the screen than the camera sensors that receive light, this design adjustment is highly reasonable. By relocating the infrared emitter, Apple can reduce the physical hole space required at the top of the screen.

The source @i Ice Universe then joined the discussion and released another comparison picture. The regular Dynamic Island includes the camera circular hole on the right and the larger infrared pill hole on the left.
The newly revealed screen panel shows that the volume of the pill-shaped notch has significantly decreased. These closely-occurring spy photos mutually confirm each other, further increasing the credibility of the rumor that Apple is shrinking the dynamic island (a feature on the iPhone).
