Igeekphone reported on April 24th that according to XimiTime’s information, a mysterious new folding screen phone under the Xiaomi brand, code-named “2608BPX34C”, has already been found in the code repository. It is expected to be Xiaomi MIX Fold 5.
This will also be Xiaomi’s first comeback after discontinuing the large foldable product line. The previous MIX Fold model was released in 2024.

The most significant aspect is that the code indicates that the model’s code name is “Lhasa” and it will be equipped with the “Xuanji O3” chip. It is the successor to Xiaomi’s self-developed SoC “Xuanji O1”.
According to previous revelations by the blogger, the Xuanji O2 continues to use the TSMC 3nm process. It is reported that its process has been upgraded to TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process N3P, and it is not using the latest 2nm process of TSMC.

Additionally, there are reports indicating that the progress of Xiaomi’s new self-developed baseband is quite good and there have been breakthroughs. However, it is still uncertain whether this generation can keep up.
It is worth noting that apart from MIX Fold 5 foldable phone, MIX also plans to launch a straight-bodied model this year. It is expected to introduce a mass production solution for modular magnetic lenses. Both models are scheduled to be released in Q3, with the latest one expected to debut as early as July.

Xiaomi 15 series once showcased a magnetic lens. Xiaomi called it the “module optical system”. The phone is equipped with a magnetic detachable lens, using a custom M4/3 sensor and a full aspherical lens group, providing a full 108-megapixel image, equivalent to a 35mm focal length, and featuring an f/1.4 large aperture.
The optical system of the Xiaomi module supports ultra-fast laser transmission at speeds up to 10 Gbps, and it also enables lossless transmission of RAW data.
