Igeekphone reported on May 8th that a source named mysticleaks disclosed on the Telegram platform yesterday (May 7th) that in the Pixel 12 series of phones to be launched in 2027, Google will continue to use its own-developed Tensor G7 chip, with its internal code name being “Lajolla”.
Igeekphone reports that Google is continuing to pursue its own development of mobile phone chips and will not adopt third-party flagship chips. The code name might be derived from the La Jolla area in San Diego, California.

In terms of specifications, there is currently limited information available regarding the Tensor G7. However, based on the existing clues, it is estimated that this chip will adopt the 2nm process technology from TSMC.
Google’s Tensor G6 is estimated to be Google’s first chip to adopt the TSMC 2nm process technology, while Tensor G7 is expected to use an improved version of the 2nm process.
In terms of performance, Google’s self-developed chips do not aim for the highest benchmark scores. Instead, they place greater emphasis on AI functions and user experience requirements. Therefore, Tensor G7 will continue to advance on the AI front.
