Igeekphone News, May 8th: According to Wccftech, Google has no intention of abandoning the Tensor series and is developing a product named “Tensor G7”, with its code name being “Lajolla” or “LaJolla”, which is expected to be used in the Pixel 12 series.
At present, there is not much information about the Tensor G7, but it is unlikely to become a performance-level SoC of the same period.
It is rumored that the Tensor G7, like the Tensor G6, will be manufactured by TSMC and will use the same lithography technology. It will be based on the 2nm manufacturing process node, but there is a possibility that an improved process will be selected.

Google may also further optimize its AI workloads to enhance the user experience. However, from an external perspective, Google’s strategy of betting on NPU and giving up the original CPU/GPU performance is not advisable. It is merely an attempt to better control the manufacturing costs of the chips.
According to the previous statement, this year’s Tensor G6 is expected to choose Arm C1-Ultra and Arm C1-Pro for its CPU part. The former has a frequency of up to 4.11GHz and adopts a “1+4+2” three-cluster architecture, with a total of 7 cores.
Compared to Tensor G5, Tensor G6 will have one less performance core, and the multi-core performance is expected to be affected.
