Igeekphone reported on June 30th that the whistleblower Ahmed Kowad disclosed the detailed dimensions and core specifications of Samsung’s first wide foldable phone, Galaxy Z Fold 8, on the X platform yesterday. This information is exactly the same as that revealed by another well-known whistleblower, @Ice Universe, at the beginning of last month.
According to the report, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is only 4.5 millimeters thick when unfolded and 9.7 millimeters thick when folded. The overall weight of the device is 201 grams. Additionally, the size of the device when unfolded is 161.4 millimeters × 123.9 millimeters (the width in the folded state is 81.9 millimeters).

Its inner screen is a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 4:3 aspect ratio, while the outer screen is a 5.5-inch horizontal widescreen with a 16:10 aspect ratio.
This design effectively distinguishes the Samsung foldable product line: The standard version, Galaxy Z Fold 8, features a wider and shorter “passport-style” body, while the traditional slender design has been elevated to a separate and higher positioning level, named Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

In terms of core configuration, this device will be equipped with the Samsung-customized 3nm process Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mobile platform, featuring 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. The rear camera uses a 50-megapixel (f/1.8) main sensor, paired with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens (f/1.9); both the front and rear screens have a 10-megapixel (f/2.2) camera.
In other aspects, its battery capacity is 4800mAh and it supports “Super Fast Charge 2.0” and “Wireless Fast Charge 2.0” charging protocols. Samsung is expected to officially release this product at the Unpacked event in late July 2026. The official invitation has not yet been sent out.
