Igeekphone reported on July 1st that there have been numerous leaks recently suggesting that Samsung’s foldable Galaxy Z series will be released on July 22nd. Now, there is even stronger official evidence to support this claim.
In Malaysia, Samsung has offered a special 700 Malaysian Ringgit (approximately 171 US Dollars) discount for loyal fans on purchasing the next Galaxy foldable device. This feature will be available in the Samsung Member app from July 22nd to October 4th, and the release date has been confirmed.
Samsung has launched three new models of foldable screens simultaneously. They are Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8.

Among them, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is an updated version of Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 is an updated version of Galaxy Z Flip 7.
Among them, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is the most highly anticipated model and also a newly added brand-new device. It is Samsung’s first large-sized foldable phone, and its size and aspect ratio are similar to those of the Huawei Pura X Max.
According to the information released, the internal screen of this device is 7.6 inches, with a 4:3 aspect ratio, providing a display effect similar to that of an iPad. It is accompanied by a 5.4-inch external screen, completely eliminating the narrow and elongated form of traditional foldable screens. The experience for document reading and multitasking office work has been significantly improved.

Both the inner and outer screens are 120Hz LTPO dynamic AMOLED, with a peak brightness of 2600 nits.
The core configuration is on par with the flagship models. It is equipped with the 5th generation Snapdragon 8 Ultra Edition for Galaxy processor, offering up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage space.
The rear camera features a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. It is equipped with a 4800mAh battery and supports 45W wired charging and 25W wireless fast charging.
After folding, the thickness is 9.8mm. When fully unfolded, the thinnest part is only 4.9mm. It will become the world’s lightest foldable phone, weighing approximately 200g.

The foldable iPhone that Apple is set to release in September will also adopt a similar aspect ratio. Coupled with the Huawei Pura X series, the three major manufacturers will engage in a fierce competition in the foldable device market.
