Huawei MateBook Pro S Confirmed for August 5 Launch, Weighs Just 798g

Huawei has officially confirmed that it will unveil the MateBook Pro S at its All-Scenario New Product Launch Event on August 5, where the company is also expected to introduce several major additions to its ecosystem. One of the biggest highlights is the MateBook Pro S, an ultra-lightweight laptop that weighs just 798 grams, making it one of the lightest premium notebooks in its class.

Huawei to Host Major Product Launch on August 5

The launch event, scheduled for 2:30 PM (China Standard Time) on August 5, will showcase a wide range of new products across Huawei’s smart ecosystem.

    Among the anticipated announcements are:

    • Huawei MateBook Pro S
    • Huawei MateBook Fold Extraordinary Master Harmony Fold Computer
    • Enjoy G9, Harmony Intelligent Mobility’s latest technology-focused SUV
    • Era Series flagship MPVs, including the V800 and V680

The event reflects Huawei’s continued strategy of expanding its interconnected ecosystem across computing, automotive, and smart devices.

    MateBook Pro S: Ultra-Light Design

Huawei has confirmed that the new MateBook Pro S weighs only 798g, emphasizing portability without compromising on premium design.

Although the company has yet to reveal detailed hardware specifications, the remarkably low weight suggests the MateBook Pro S is aimed at professionals, students, and mobile users seeking a highly portable productivity laptop.

Huawei also revealed that the notebook will be available in several stylish color options:

    • Summer Purple
    • Dawn Yellow
    • Smoke Cloud Gray
    • Velvet White
    • Feather Sand Black

The diverse color lineup highlights Huawei’s focus on combining productivity with contemporary aesthetics.

    MateBook Fold Introduces Stylus Support

Huawei has also released a teaser for its upcoming MateBook Fold Extraordinary Master Harmony Fold Computer.

According to the official promotional materials, the foldable laptop will debut in a new gold finish and, for the first time, will support stylus input. The addition of pen compatibility is expected to improve handwriting, note-taking, sketching, and creative workflows, further expanding the device’s productivity capabilities.

Additional details regarding the foldable design, hardware specifications, and HarmonyOS integration are expected to be announced during the launch event.

Recent Certifications Hint at New Hardware

Ahead of the official unveiling, several new Huawei MateBook models recently received China’s 3C certification, offering early clues about the company’s upcoming notebook lineup.

Models in the MOR series, including MOR-M1 and MOR-M2, were certified with the HW-200330CP0 power adapter, supporting multiple charging profiles with a maximum output of 66W (11V/6A or 20V/3.3A).

Meanwhile, notebooks belonging to the SLM series, such as SLM-W32 and SLM-W24, obtained both 3C and Star Flash certifications. These models are paired with the HW-200700CP0 power adapter, supporting fast charging at up to 140W (20V/7A).

While Huawei has not officially linked these certified models to the MateBook Pro S or MateBook Fold, the certifications suggest that multiple new laptops are preparing for release.

    Looking Ahead

Huawei’s August 5 event is shaping up to be one of the company’s most significant product launches of the year. With the debut of the ultra-light MateBook Pro S, the next-generation MateBook Fold, and several new smart mobility products, Huawei continues to expand its ecosystem across personal computing and intelligent transportation.

More information, including full specifications, pricing, regional availability, and launch timelines, is expected to be revealed during the official presentation.
