Xiaomi has introduced the Mijia Air Pump 3, the latest generation of its portable electric inflator. The new model is now available for crowdfunding through Xiaomi’s online sales channels in China, with a suggested retail price of 199 yuan and an introductory crowdfunding price of 179 yuan.
The Mijia Air Pump 3 is designed for more than occasional bicycle use, making it a useful portable tire inflator for different everyday applications. Xiaomi has upgraded the motor and inflation system while adding a larger built-in battery, a real-time display and a new pressure relief valve. These changes are aimed at making the inflator easier to use when checking or topping up the pressure of different types of tires and sports equipment.
Mijia Air Pump 3 Reaches Up to 150 PSI
At the heart of the new inflator is a more powerful motor paired with a 21mm precision aluminum-alloy die-cast cylinder. Xiaomi says the updated design can reach a maximum pressure of 150 PSI, while inflation speed has improved by around 25% compared with the previous generation.
The higher pressure capability allows the Mijia Air Pump 3 to handle a wider range of inflation tasks. It can be used for vehicle tires, road bicycles and sports balls, making it a more versatile option than a basic compact pump.

However, actual inflation time can vary depending on the starting pressure, tire size and target pressure. The 150 PSI figure should therefore be viewed as the pump’s maximum pressure capability rather than a guarantee of the same performance in every situation.
5000mAh Battery Supports Multiple Inflation Tasks
The Mijia Air Pump 3 contains two 2500mAh lithium batteries, providing a combined capacity of 5000mAh.
According to Xiaomi’s stated figures, a rechargeable battery can provide enough power for approximately:
- 10 top-ups of car tires
- 19 inflations of road bicycle tires
- 80 inflations of size 7 basketballs
These figures give users a better idea of the pump’s intended range of use. Instead of being limited to emergency tire inflation, the larger battery allows the device to serve as a portable inflator for several types of equipment.
Actual results will naturally depend on factors such as tire pressure, tire volume, temperature and how much pressure needs to be added.
New Pressure Relief Valve Makes Adjustment Easier
One of the notable changes on the Mijia Air Pump 3 is the addition of a pressure relief valve.
The new design is intended to make pressure adjustment more convenient. If the pressure is higher than the desired level, users can release some air before continuing with the required setting. This can be particularly useful when precise pressure matters, such as when adjusting bicycle tires.
The pump also includes a visual display that shows inflation progress in real time, making it easier to monitor the process without relying on guesswork.
Automatic Pressure Detection and Stop Function
The Mijia Air Pump 3 uses a digital chip-based pressure sensor with a claimed measurement accuracy of ±1 PSI.
Users can enter a target pressure manually or select one of the available preset modes. Once the desired pressure is reached, the pump can automatically stop inflation.

The device also performs automatic pressure calibration when powered on. Xiaomi says this helps maintain pressure detection accuracy even in higher-altitude environments.
Together, these functions are designed to reduce the need for users to constantly check the pressure manually while inflating.
Built-In LED Light Includes SOS Mode
The Mijia Air Pump 3 also comes with an integrated LED light.
The light can be used as a basic illumination source when inflating a tire in low-light conditions. Xiaomi has also added an SOS mode, giving the light an additional emergency-oriented function.
This is a relatively small feature, but it could be useful for drivers and cyclists who keep the inflator in a vehicle or carry it during longer trips.

What Makes the Mijia Air Pump 3 Different?
The main upgrade of the Mijia Air Pump 3 is not a single specification but the way Xiaomi combines several practical features into a compact inflator.
The 5000mAh battery gives it enough capacity for multiple inflation tasks, while the 150 PSI maximum pressure expands its potential use beyond simple sports equipment. At the same time, the pressure sensor, automatic shutoff and new pressure relief valve are designed to make pressure adjustment more controlled.
For users who regularly need to maintain car or bicycle tire pressure, these improvements could make the third-generation model more convenient than carrying a traditional hand pump or relying on a larger workshop compressor.
Xiaomi has not positioned the Mijia Air Pump 3 as a replacement for professional workshop equipment. Instead, its compact design, rechargeable battery and automated pressure functions make it better suited to everyday tire maintenance, travel and emergency inflation.
