Motorola may be preparing to enter a new segment of the foldable smartphone market. Newly leaked renders have reportedly revealed the company’s first wide-screen foldable phone, along with early details about its dimensions, displays, camera design, and possible launch timeframe.
According to a report published by Android Headlines on September 28, 2026, the new Motorola foldable could arrive around mid-December 2026. The renders are reportedly based on leaked sketches, specification information, and design elements associated with Motorola’s Razr Fold and Signature 27 series.
Because the device has not yet been officially announced, its final design and specifications could still change before release.
Motorola Wide-Screen Foldable: Dimensions and Design
The leaked information suggests that Motorola is taking a noticeably wider approach to the traditional book-style foldable phone.
When unfolded, the device is reportedly expected to measure approximately 149 × 110 × 5.8 mm. When folded, its dimensions could be around 110 × 76 × 12.6 mm.
This would make the phone shorter and narrower overall than the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, based on the leaked comparison. However, the Motorola model could also be 2.9 mm thicker when folded.
The dimensions suggest that Motorola is focusing on a wider unfolded form factor rather than simply following the proportions used by most current book-style foldable phones.
6.92-Inch Inner Screen and 4.97-Inch Cover Display
The biggest highlight of the leaked Motorola foldable is its display configuration.
The phone is expected to feature a 6.92-inch internal display when unfolded, paired with a 4.97-inch external cover screen when closed.
The inner display would therefore be smaller than the reported 7.6-inch panel on the Galaxy Z Fold8, while the outer screen appears to use a relatively compact aspect ratio.
Both displays are reportedly expected to feature punch-hole cutouts for the front-facing camera. This would give the device a more conventional modern smartphone appearance while keeping the bezels relatively uniform.
The combination of a wide inner screen and a smaller cover display could give Motorola’s foldable a distinct identity compared with conventional Fold-style devices.
Dual-Camera Bar on the Rear
The leaked renders also provide an early look at the rear camera design.
Motorola is reportedly using a horizontal camera bar across the back of the phone. The module appears to house two rear cameras and protrudes slightly from the rear panel.

Based on the reported dimensions, Motorola appears to be pursuing a shorter and narrower body, while its 6.92-inch internal screen would also be smaller than the Galaxy Z Fold8’s reported 7.6-inch panel.
The Motorola phone could nevertheless be thicker when folded. Its reported 12.6 mm folded thickness is said to be approximately 2.9 mm greater than the comparison device.
These differences suggest that Motorola may be prioritizing a different balance between screen proportions, overall footprint, and folded thickness rather than directly copying Samsung’s current Fold design.
