Nubia has officially revealed the design of the upcoming RedMagic 12 Pro+, giving gamers an early look at the company’s next flagship gaming smartphone ahead of its launch in China.
The new RedMagic phone is scheduled to be officially unveiled on October 15 at 2:30 PM, according to the latest announcement. The company is continuing its under-display front camera technology, allowing the phone to maintain a full-screen appearance without a visible punch-hole camera.

RedMagic 12 Pro+ Focuses on a Thinner and More Comfortable Design
The RedMagic 12 Pro+ is being promoted as the brand’s most comfortable flagship gaming phone to date. This generation focuses on a slimmer body, lower weight, narrower bezels and more rounded edges.
These changes are particularly notable for a gaming smartphone because flagship gaming devices often prioritize cooling hardware and large batteries, which can make them heavier and thicker than conventional smartphones.
These design changes could make the RedMagic 12 Pro+ more comfortable for users comparing gaming phones for long sessions.
RedMagic appears to be addressing that issue with the 12 Pro+ by refining the physical design while maintaining its performance-focused identity.
One of the clearest improvements can be seen around the display. The screen border has reportedly been reduced from 1.25mm on the previous generation to just 0.96mm on the RedMagic 12 Pro+.
The narrower bezel should give the phone a cleaner front appearance while making better use of the available display area.
Under-Display Camera Keeps the Screen Free of a Punch Hole
The approach also puts the RedMagic 12 Pro+ among the latest under-display camera phones, a category that continues to prioritize an uninterrupted full-screen experience.
Instead of placing the selfie camera inside a conventional punch-hole cutout, the camera is positioned beneath the display. This allows the screen to remain visually uninterrupted.
For gaming, this approach can be particularly appealing because there is no camera cutout occupying part of the viewing area during gameplay.
RedMagic is also emphasizing the phone’s “full-screen” design, describing the front as a display without a visible opening.

Snapdragon 8-Series Chip Targets Flagship Gaming Performance
The RedMagic 12 Pro+ will also be powered by Qualcomm’s sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Supreme Edition platform, according to the company’s announcement.
For buyers comparing Snapdragon gaming phones, sustained performance and thermal management can be just as important as peak benchmark scores.
The processor is expected to serve as one of the key performance components of the new gaming phone, complementing RedMagic’s focus on sustained high-load performance and long gaming sessions.
However, RedMagic has not yet revealed every hardware specification for the 12 Pro+ at this stage. More details are expected during the official launch event on October 15.
RedMagic Says the Phone Is Still Built for Gamers
Jiang Chao, general manager of RedMagic gaming phones, previously described the RedMagic 12 Pro+ as a smartphone designed specifically around the needs of players.
According to his comments, the new model is intended to maintain stable performance under heavy workloads while improving cooling for extended gaming sessions. At the same time, RedMagic wants to make the device thinner and lighter without losing its distinctive gaming-phone identity.
The company is also highlighting the combination of a hole-free under-display display, improved ergonomics and a smoother everyday software experience.
That positioning suggests RedMagic is trying to balance two traditionally competing priorities: serious gaming performance and everyday smartphone usability.
RedMagic 12 Pro+ Launch Date
The RedMagic 12 Pro+ will launch on October 15 at 2:30 PM.
The design reveal gives us a clearer picture of what RedMagic is changing this generation, but several important details remain to be confirmed. These include the complete camera configuration, battery capacity, charging specifications, cooling system and pricing.
More information should become available when the phone is officially introduced.
What to Expect From the RedMagic 12 Pro+
Based on the information released so far, RedMagic 12 Pro+ is shaping up to be an evolutionary upgrade focused heavily on refinement.
Its main highlights include:
- Under-display front camera
- 0.96mm display border
- Thinner and lighter body
- More rounded design
- Sixth-generation Snapdragon 8 Supreme Edition processor
- Gaming-focused cooling and sustained performance
- Official launch on October 15 at 2:30 PM
The biggest change may not be a single headline specification. Instead, RedMagic appears to be improving the physical experience of using a powerful gaming phone every day.
If the company can combine its high-performance hardware and cooling system with a thinner, lighter body, the RedMagic 12 Pro+ could offer a more balanced alternative to previous gaming phones.
The full hardware specifications, pricing and availability should be revealed at the October 15 launch event.
