Today we bring the Doogee Mix a cellphone inspirited in the Mi, make a homage releasing its new borderless phone.
Design
Made from stainless steel and glass, the Doogee mix share some hints of the exquisite design from the one from Xiaomi, with a screen ratio of almost 90%, is large phone but still small, with a solid and heavy construction transmit a feeling of a high end device, despite of its price, it is.
Even, the box has a nice finish. Inside you can find everything you need; charger, pin, cover case, tempered glass film, usb data cable and manual.
Hardware
The Mix comes with a 5.5″ HD Super Amoled bezel-less display, protected for a tech that absorbs impacts. SoC is a Mediatek Helio p25 (Octa Core) @2.5Ghz. Has a double config: a 4gb RAM + 64gb ROM or a 6gb RAM + 64gb ROM set. Finger print reader below the screen, a 3,380 mAh battery.
In the back sports a Dual Camera made from Isocell (samsung) a set of 16+8 Mpx in the front has a 5mpx camera with software for selfies.
Features
The Doogee Mix runs Android 7.0 with the security patch from June 5. The software experience is somewhat clean as almost stock launcher. There are some software additions, such as the ability to launch apps by drawing on the device’s screen when it’s off; or being able to play a video in floating window mode over any part of the screen; or all the customization that comes native with the phone.
You can take advantage from its finger print reader, so you can config apps to be locked or unlocked through the finger scanner.
Camera
If you come from an old device like the Meiuze 5 or if you are comparing the Doogee Mix with a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, then the Doogee Mix’s camera is way better.
As a Dual Camera set the second lens is a called “telephoto” lens that can take photos at 2X zoom. Just like those other phones, the Doogee Mix can also take bokeh shots. Takes nice pictures at low light conditions.
Battery
Battery life is good, in real life conditions, the phone lasted a full 12-hour day everyday and never dipped below 10%.
Made from Lithium, this 3380mAh battery supports fast charge from mediatek, so you can use the provided charger to go from 10% to 70% of juice in 30 minutes.
Review
The Doogee Mix, gave me rare feelings, the camera isn’t stellar. But the software is pleasant to use, and the bezel-less design — even if unoriginal — still looks great. The Samsung Galaxy S8 has set a high bar for how comfortable a phone feels in the hand, and while the Doogee Mix can’t beat that, it does beat most other phones. All our daily apps run smooth. This is a 5.5-inch device that’s much smaller than, say, the iPhone 7 Plus with the same screen size. But at this price, it’s a fun little bezel-less phone.
