Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Vs Redmi Note 5 Pro, What Differences Are There?

With the launch of Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro, Xiaomi updates its line of smartphones with technical specifications that promise good performance and lower prices than those found in Galaxy Note 8 and iPhone X, two of its main opponents. With an emphasis on facial and digital recognition, Note 5 Pro has announced entry price of $220. Note 5, more simple, starts at $155. The official store of Xiaomi indicates that both will be available from February 22.

While the Redmi Note 5 Pro is the great new feature with a redesigned design and features the fact that it is Xiaomi’s first handset with facial recognition, Redmi Note 5 is a renamed version of Redmi Note 5 Plus, originally released in December. Note 5 maintains the same versions and specifications as Plus and is intended for the international market.

Both phones have a screen of 5.9 inches in 18: 9 aspect, which creates space for the resolution to be slightly larger, at 2160 x 1080 pixels. In the design applied to Redmi Note 5 Pro, it is possible to notice that the screen has curved corners, imitating the solution present in the Galaxy S8, in addition to reduced edges.

The differences favoring the Redmi Note 5 Pro start inside the smartphone. The processor is a Snapdragon 636 of 8-cores, capable of running up to 1.8 GHz. The model may be found in RAM 4GB or 6GB, always with 64GB storage. Redmi Note 5 is, in fact, a re-launch of the Redmi 5 Plus with a new face. The cell phone remains equipped with an octa-core Snapdragon 625 up to 2.0 GHz and with options of 3GB or 4GB of RAM. For internal memory, they are 32GB or 64GB, depending on the version.

In terms of performance, therefore, neither of them have the breath to achieve Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus, Galaxy Note 8 and iPhone X. In the operating system, both arrive with Android 7.1 Nougat and MIUI interface 9.

On the camera, Note 5 Pro also excels. Xiaomi opted to equip the launch with a dual camera that divides between a 12MP main sensor and 2.2 focal aperture and a 5MP f / 2.0 zoom lens designed for deep capture. In addition to the facial recognition technology already mentioned, Pro allows the use of a fingerprint sensor, located on the rear panel of the smartphone.

On the front panel, a 20MP camera promises high-definition selfies. In addition, the front camera also handles face recognition unlocking. In Redmi Note 5, the main camera is simple, with a resolution of 12MP and aperture of 2.2. On the front panel, the sensor is 5MP. Without facial recognition, the Redmi Note 5 has a digital reader only.

More modern in design, both Redmi Note 5 and Pro will be sold in black, gold, pink gold and blue. The battery in both cases is also the same, with 4000mAh but pro also has Fast charging 5V / 2A. The phones offer microSD memory card slot with.

The Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro have just been launched in India with a starting price tag of $155 for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and $220 for the Pro version. In our opinion, the differences justify the price and it is worth buying the Pro version to get better performances and better photos.
