Chuwi HIGame Mini PC: Review, Design, Hardware, Feature, Price and Release Date

After the success of its campaign on Indiegogo for the SurBook (exceeding 2600% of initial requests), the Chinese manufacturer intends to launch a new crowdfunding collection on the platform. This time, the company puts aside “mobile” devices and focuses on the CHUWI HiGame mini PC, which promises extremely interesting performances. As can be seen from the image released by the same company, the brand’s mini PC should arrive with a respectable spec, design, and features.

    Design

The Chuwi HiGame is 173 x 158 x 73mm relatively compact and looks a bit reminiscent of the old Tower Mac Pros from Apple. The case seems to be made entirely of metal and can be positioned both horizontally and upright. On the sides, you will find handles, as they have made the mentioned Mac Pros Apple. Overall, the Chuwi HiGame makes a pretty good impression and it will be interesting to see what Chuwi demands for the hardware.

    Hardware

The HiGame mini PC is equipped with 8GB DDR4 memory (2x DDR4 SO-DIMM), 256GB SSD and additional storage space for expansion. Users can place an M.2 22 × 42/80 drive that supports SATA or PCIe x4 SSDs, as well as standard 2.5 “SATA3 Gbps SSDs or HDDs.

The new Chuwi HiGame is a small desktop that will integrate an Intel Core i5-8305G processor with AMD Radeon RX Vega M GL graphics. It is an interesting advance in a brand that until now had rarely integrated processors that were not Atom, Celeron or Core M processors of low consumption.

    Feature

This new desktop that the brand intends to sell as HTPC for games and multimedia, will integrate a 65w variant of these new Intel processors, which we can also see in other machines to reach the market as the Hades Canyon integrated into the Intel NUC family. of other devices that prepare other common brands in these formats such as Gigabyte, Zotac or ASUS.

This processor has 4 cores, eight process threads have support for up to 64GB of RAM, and mounts in the same package an AMD Radeon RX Vega M GL graphics engine with 20 computing engines, 1024-Bit HMB2 data bus and a bandwidth of 180GBps. This processor offers high performance and graphics capable of exceeding a Geforce GTX 1050 with a total consumption of 65 watts.

The PC will ship with Windows 10 Home preinstalled in a 64-bit version and Chuwi HiGame supports the output of the image resolution of 4K at 60 fps. Up to 6 displays can be connected to the computer, and helmets of virtual / augmented reality are also supported.

The Chuwi HiGame connectivity is covered by 5 USB 3.0 ports, a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C), 2 HDMI 2.0 ports with support for 4K @ 60Hz resolutions, 2 DisplayPort 1.3 ports, Gigabit Ethernet port, Wifi-AC and audio connection for microphone and headphones.

    Price and Release Date

In short, a real mini PC with fabulous specifications. The official image at the top also provides some more information about the features and the doors equipped. Chuwi HiGame will start to sell on Indiegogo at the end of May and the first HiGame will begin shipping in July, just after the planned crowdfunding campaign. The price is planned at $999. But campaign participants will receive a discount of up to 38%.
