Blackview’s OSCAL C80 Tipped to Launch – Comes with 90Hz Display, and Up to 1TB TF Support


OSCAL, Blackview’s brother brand devoted for years to trendy & slim smartphones designed for young users,  is planning to launch a new device in its C series. It seems that the handset is dubbed OSCAL C80. Tipster Tom Emerson revealed that C80 is expected to debut in the middle of September. He adds that the handset will be the lightest and slimmest one in the OSCAL smartphone portfolio. Meanwhile, several leaks surfaced on the internet suggesting interesting specs about C80, including color variants, screen, camera, battery, pricing, etc. Here’s what we know about the phone so far.

OSCAL C80 Expected Specs

Body: 188g light & 8.55mm thin

Previous leaks suggest that OSCAL C80 will feature an ultra-slim body weighing only 188g, almost 10g lighter than its predecessor, with greater portability by being only 8.55mm thin. It is said that its back cover has adopted CNC and silk print processes to deliver an elegant sense of beauty and a smart look. C80 is likely to have a flatten middle frame, a design growing popular among giant smartphone brands like Apple and Huawei.

Screen: 6.5-inch & 90Hz refresh rate

The biggest draw of the OSCAL C80 is probably its higher screen fluidity as the handset will be the first OSCAL device to carry a 6.5-inch  display with a 90Hz refresh rate. This will make the action feel smoother on the screen and make the picture look sharper and the smartphone more speedy and responsive.

Camera: 50MP Samsung® ISOCELL JN1 & 8MP Samsung® ISOCELL 4H7

OSCAL C80 is said to adopt the low-light photography expert sensor—50MP Samsung® ISOCELL JN1 as its rear camera, providing up to 16% of improved light sensitivity thanks to the 4-in-1 pixel binning technology. As for the front camera, C80 will be backed by an 8MP Samsung® ISOCELL 4H7 sensor. 

According to an official leak, OSCAL C80 will render all the photography boon for different scenarios of picture-taking; including Panorama mode, Night Pro mode, Pro mode, HDR, Portrait, 1080p Video recording, etc. From dawn to dusk, from selfies to magnificent scenery, C80 has them covered all by producing decent photographic masterpieces with ample detail and excellent color accuracy. What’s of note is that the C80 camera supports Ultra-res mode that delivers photos with upgraded clarity in all scenarios.

Battery: 5180mAh

CPU: Octa-core Unisoc T606

In terms of CPU, OSCAL C80 is expected to be shipped with an octa-core Unisoc T606 paired; with 8GB RAM and up to 6GB RAM expansion for smoother multitasking and faster app-switching and launching speed. For storage capacity, C80 is likely to deliver 128GB ROM and up to 1TB TF support to offer enormous space for entertaining digital content or important work files.

OS: Android 12 & DokeOS 3.0

If leaks online are to be believed, what is of note in OSCAL C80 should be its Android 12 operating system; with DokeOS 3.0 on top upgraded from its precursors with DokeOS 2.1 based on Android 11. C80 renders all the responsive and versatile tricks to amuse users and save their time; including convenient smart floating windows for easier access to apps, upgraded Notebook for a to-do list or thought-recording; refined animation for better visuals, CPU scheduling for power-saving; Face Fill Light for impressive night photography, and better privacy control against personal data leak.

OSCAL C80 is expected to be priced at $109.99(down from $219.99) with its premiere sale probably kicking off on the Blackview Super Brand Day from September 14th to September 15th.
