According to the South Korean media Etoday, Japan Tobacco International Korea (JTI Korea) announced that its new generation heated non-combustion device “Ploom AURA” will be officially launched in South Korea on April 14th.
South Korea makes Ploom AURA publicly available for the first time
JTI Korea held a media conference in Seoul on the same day and made the Ploom AURA publicly available in South Korea for the first time.
At the press conference, Irina Lee, the president of JTI Korea, and Frederic Estripo, the marketing director of JTI Korea, took the stage to introduce the values pursued by the Ploom brand and the main features of Ploom AURA.
Equipped with “Smart Heatflow” technology and offering 4 heating modes
JTI Korea stated that Ploom AURA is a new-generation device that fully embodies the quality of the Ploom brand. It also emphasized that this product has been upgraded in a more gentle, smarter and thinner direction to meet consumer demands.
The most distinctive feature of Ploom AURA is its heating engine, “Smart Heatflow” technology.
The company stated that this technology can precisely control the heating temperature of the tobacco, enabling a richer and more uniform flavor of the tobacco itself.
Users can select one of the four heating modes through the Ploom exclusive app, adjusting the flavor intensity and usage duration according to their personal preferences and usage scenarios. Among them, “Long Mode” can be used for up to 6 minutes, which is 20% longer than the original base usage time.
The product will be available in 4 colors and will be released on multiple platforms.
JTI Korea stated that in the “Battery Saver Mode”, the device can use up to 27 cigarette cartridges after being fully charged.
The newly launched Ploom application also offers functions such as battery status viewing, device location finding, and device locking. The company also stated that Ploom AURA is thinner and lighter than the existing devices.
Ploom AURA will introduce four colors: Jet Black, Rose Gold, Navy Blue and Luna Silver.
The company stated that users can also customize their devices with various accessories such as the front panel, back cover and device storage bag, with a total of over 500 combinations available. The product will be available for purchase starting from April 14th through the Ploom official website as well as e-commerce platforms like Coupang and Naver.
