On May 14th, Beijing time, DJI released the new generation of flagship unmanned aerial vehicle Mavic 4 Pro on Tuesday. However, according to TheVerge, an American technology website, DJI confirmed that the Mavic 4 Pro will not be available in the United States.
TheVerge claims that the Mavic 4 Pro might be the most powerful drone ever produced by DJI. It is first equipped with a 360-degree rotating gimbal, capable of shooting tilted and rotating images and achieving true vertical shooting.
It is also the first Mavic model with a battery life of 51 minutes, on par with the previous Mini 3 model and close to DJI’s longest flight time. It is also equipped with a 108-megapixel Hasselblad main camera, capable of shooting 6K / 60fps HDR videos, with a starting price of 13,888 yuan.
However, it is also the first DJI drone that has been launched on the market but is not sold in the United States. The Mavic 4 Pro will be officially launched in Canada, Mexico and all other countries where DJI sells drones. However, DJI told The Verge that there is currently no timetable for selling the drone in the United States. If American users cross the border to purchase in Canada or Mexico, DJI will not provide limited warranty service for the products.
The Verge then questioned DJI about the reasons for not listing in the United States. DJI replied, “The DJI Mavic 4 Pro will not be available for sale in the US market when it is globally launched on May 13th.” Like many multinational companies, we have to adjust our marketing strategies according to the local market conditions and changes in the industry environment. Although we haven’t determined when this product can be launched in the United States at present, we are closely monitoring the situation and actively seeking all possible solutions.
When asked whether the decision not to go public was related to tariffs, DJI said, “In a highly uncertain environment, adjustments to market strategies often do not stem from a single factor.” However, tariffs are undoubtedly one of the important considerations among them.
Although The Mavic 4 Pro will not be available in the United States, The Verge has found that two US retailers are already selling the Mavic 4 Pro, with a starting price of $2,699 (Igeekphone Note: The current exchange rate is approximately 19,431 yuan).
