Igeekphone News, August 14th: Technology media DroneXL published a blog post yesterday (August 13th), sharing a set of pictures showcasing DJI’s upcoming Mini 5 Pro drone and revealing several breakthrough designs.
In terms of battery, the Mini 5 Pro adopts the battery system of the Mini 3 Pro and Mini 4 Pro. The “C0” classification label is clearly visible at the bottom of the fuselage (Igeekphone Note: referring to the category of drones with an overall weight of less than 249 grams), which means that in most countries and regions, users do not need to register, train or take an exam to fly.

However, this unmanned aerial vehicle has successfully integrated a 1-inch image sensor, breaking the previous technical limitation that this specification of sensor was only available on models weighing over 595 grams (such as the Air 3S).
In terms of appearance, the new blade shield draws on the design of DJI Flip and integrates low-noise blade tip technology. A new side button has been added at the bottom. It supports automatic startup and one-click takeoff after folding and unfolding, without the need for a remote control to intervene. In addition, the propeller has abandoned the traditional disposable screws and adopted a “touch and install” quick-release design.

In terms of parameters, the DJI Mini 5 Pro features outstanding low-light performance and dynamic range, supporting lenses with an equivalent focal length of 24mm and an F1.8 aperture. Functionally, it includes Nightscape night scene mode, 48mm medium and long focal length mode, omnidirectional obstacle avoidance and ActiveTrack tracking technology for sports scenes. The video capability can reach 4K / 120fps, and the battery life has been extended to 36 minutes.

In terms of safety performance, the Mini 5 Pro will introduce a LiDAR system for the first time in the Mini series, achieving omnidirectional environmental perception both indoors and outdoors, and supporting precise return and obstacle avoidance in dark environments.

To enhance its creative camera movement capabilities, DJI has upgraded the gimbal structure, allowing for a rotation Angle of up to 330 degrees and enabling free pitching of over 225 degrees during shooting.
