Google Confirms Pixel 11 Launch Event for August 12, with Four New Smartphones and Expanded Ecosystem Expected

Google has officially announced that its annual Made by Google hardware event will take place on August 12, 2026, in New York City, where the company is expected to unveil the highly anticipated Pixel 11 series alongside several new wearable devices.

The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) and arrives one week earlier than last year’s Pixel 10 launch, signaling an accelerated release schedule for Google’s next generation of flagship hardware.

    Four Pixel 11 Models Expected

According to Google’s announcement and multiple industry reports, the company will introduce four smartphones simultaneously:

    • Google Pixel 11
    • Google Pixel 11 Pro
    • Google Pixel 11 Pro XL
    • Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold

The lineup continues Google’s strategy of offering flagship devices across multiple form factors, including a premium foldable smartphone designed to compete with other high-end foldables on the market.

    Refined Design with Slimmer Bezels

The event invitation features a close-up of a gold-colored metal frame, hinting at the design language of the upcoming devices.

Leaks suggest the Pixel 11 series will feature:

    • Slimmer and lighter chassis
    • Flatter aluminum frame
    • Narrower display bezels
    • Refined horizontal rear camera bar
    • Seamless all-black camera module integrated into the back panel

The overall design appears to be an evolution of Google’s established Pixel aesthetic rather than a complete redesign.

Pixel Glow Lighting Could Debut on Pro Models

One of the more intriguing rumors surrounding the Pixel 11 Pro lineup is the introduction of a hidden Pixel Glow RGB lighting system.

According to leaked information, the integrated LED module could provide visual notifications for:

    • Incoming calls
    • Message alerts
    • AI task progress
    • System status indicators

Google has not officially confirmed the feature, but it would represent a unique addition to the Pixel lineup if introduced.

    Tensor G6 Built on TSMC’s 2nm Process

All Pixel 11 models are expected to be powered by Google’s next-generation Tensor G6 processor.

The chipset is rumored to be manufactured using TSMC’s advanced 2nm process, promising improvements in:

    • AI performance
    • Energy efficiency
    • CPU and GPU performance
    • Thermal management

Reports also suggest Google has switched from Samsung to a MediaTek modem, a move that could significantly improve cellular reception and connectivity compared with previous Pixel generations.

    Upgraded Displays and AI Photography

The Pixel 11 Pro models are expected to retain familiar display sizes:

    • Pixel 11 Pro: 6.3-inch OLED
    • Pixel 11 Pro XL: 6.8-inch OLED

While the screen sizes may remain unchanged, Google is reportedly upgrading the camera hardware across the lineup.

Combined with the company’s renowned computational photography software, the new sensors are expected to deliver improved:

    • Night photography
    • Portrait mode
    • HDR performance
    • AI-assisted image processing
    • Video quality

Photography remains one of the Pixel series’ defining strengths, and Google is expected to further expand its AI-powered imaging capabilities.

Pixel 11 Pro Fold Gets a Slimmer Profile

Google’s foldable flagship is also rumored to receive meaningful refinements.

According to current reports, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold will measure approximately:

    • 10.1mm thick when folded
    • 4.8mm thick when unfolded

The device is also expected to feature:

    • Reduced overall weight
    • Redesigned hinge mechanism
    • Minor camera improvements
    • More compact overall dimensions

These changes aim to improve portability while maintaining the premium experience expected from a flagship foldable.

Storage Upgrade Across the Entire Lineup

One of the most significant changes may involve storage options.

Leaks indicate Google will eliminate the traditional 128GB base model, making 256GB the standard storage capacity across the entire Pixel 11 lineup.

While this provides better value in terms of storage, it also contributes to higher retail pricing.

    Prices Expected to Rise

European retail leaks suggest every Pixel 11 model will cost approximately €100 more than its Pixel 10 predecessor.

The increase is reportedly driven by:

    • Higher NAND flash memory costs
    • More advanced chip manufacturing
    • Upgraded hardware components
    • Rising supply chain expenses

Although regional pricing has yet to be confirmed, similar adjustments could be reflected in other markets.

    More Than Smartphones

Google’s August hardware event is expected to showcase a broader ecosystem beyond smartphones.

Additional products rumored to debut include:

    • Pixel Watch 5 in two case sizes
    • Next-generation Pixel Buds Pro wireless earbuds

Together with the Pixel 11 series, these products will further strengthen Google’s ecosystem of smartphones, wearables, and AI-powered connected devices.

    Final Thoughts

With four new smartphones, upgraded wearable devices, a next-generation Tensor G6 processor, and expanded AI capabilities, Google’s August 12 event is shaping up to be one of the company’s most significant product launches in recent years.

Although many hardware details remain based on leaks and industry reports, Google has already confirmed the event date, making it only a matter of time before the Pixel 11 family is officially unveiled. If the current rumors prove accurate, the new lineup will deliver meaningful improvements in design, performance, photography, and ecosystem integration—while also reflecting the broader industry trend of rising flagship smartphone prices.
