Google’s next-generation affordable Pixel phone may already be taking shape. New leaked renders of the Google Pixel 11a have surfaced online, revealing a familiar design and several reported hardware upgrades.
According to a report published by Android Headlines on September 29, the Pixel 11a could arrive in spring 2027. The report also suggests that Google may increase the starting price from the Pixel 10a’s expected $499 level to around $599.
Because the Pixel 11a has not been officially announced, its specifications, pricing, release schedule, and design should be treated as preliminary information.
Pixel 11a Keeps the Familiar Pixel A-Series Design
The leaked renders suggest that Google will not make a major visual departure with the Pixel 11a.
The Pixel 11a reportedly continues the design direction introduced with the Pixel 9a and Pixel 10a, building on the changes discussed in our Google Pixel 10a coverage.

There is, however, a small change to the camera design. The camera section is expected to use a shorter oval-shaped layout instead of the longer horizontal oval seen on earlier models. The LED flash reportedly remains positioned separately outside the main camera area.
This approach could give the Pixel 11a a cleaner rear panel while maintaining the recognizable Pixel A-series identity.
Tensor G6 Could Power the Pixel 11a
One of the most significant reported changes is inside the phone.

Instead of using an older Tensor generation, the Pixel 11a is reportedly expected to skip the Tensor G5 and move directly to Google’s Tensor G6 chipset. The same chip is said to be planned for the wider Pixel 11 lineup.
The modem could also represent a notable change. According to the leak, Google may move away from Samsung’s modem technology and adopt a MediaTek modem solution for the Pixel 11a.
The reported goal is to improve areas such as display-related signal performance and call stability, although these improvements will need to be confirmed through real-world testing once the phone becomes available.
6.3-Inch Display Could Reach 3,350 Nits
The Pixel 11a is reportedly equipped with a 6.3-inch 1080p display supporting an adaptive refresh rate between 60Hz and 120Hz.
Brightness could be one of the more noticeable upgrades. The leaked specifications reportedly point to a peak brightness of up to 3,350 nits, while a high-brightness mode could reach approximately 2,250 nits.
If these figures are accurate, the Pixel 11a could offer improved outdoor readability compared with previous A-series models.
However, peak brightness figures do not necessarily represent the brightness users will see across the entire display during everyday use.
5,100mAh Battery With Similar Endurance
The Pixel 11a is expected to retain a relatively large battery for its size.
The reported typical capacity is 5,100mAh, while the minimum rated capacity could be around 4,870mAh. Despite the larger battery figure, the leaked information suggests that overall battery life may remain broadly similar to the previous two generations.
Actual endurance will depend on factors such as the Tensor G6’s efficiency, display brightness, refresh rate, modem behavior, and software optimization.
Familiar Dual-Camera Setup With a New Selfie Camera
The rear camera system may remain relatively conservative.
According to the leak, the Pixel 11a could continue using a 48MP main camera and a 13MP ultrawide camera. A dedicated telephoto lens is reportedly not planned.
The front-facing camera, however, could receive a more meaningful upgrade. The Pixel 11a is rumored to adopt the 10.5MP sensor used in the Pixel 11 series.
If confirmed, this would mark the first major selfie-camera change for Google’s A-series lineup since the Pixel 7a.
Android 17 and Seven Years of Software Support
Software support could be another major selling point of the Pixel 11a.
The phone is reportedly expected to launch with Android 17 and receive up to seven years of operating-system updates, feature drops, and security patches.
Google could also include its Titan M3 security coprocessor, which is designed to help protect sensitive information such as passwords, payment details, and personal data.
A long software-support period would also make the Pixel 11a relevant for considerably longer than a typical mid-range smartphone, although the exact update policy will need to be confirmed by Google.
Four Reported Color Options
The leaked information reportedly lists four color choices for the Pixel 11a:
- Obsidian — black
- Fog — silver
- Olive — green
- Orchid — purple, with the name still considered tentative
The phone is said to measure approximately 153.46 × 72.35 × 9mm.
That would make the Pixel 11a slightly shorter than the Pixel 10a while maintaining a similar overall form factor and expected in-hand feel.
Pixel 11a Could Become a More Expensive A-Series Phone
If the reported $599 starting price is accurate, the Pixel 11a would represent a significant change in Google’s A-series pricing strategy.
At the same time, the rumored Tensor G6 processor, brighter 120Hz display, upgraded selfie camera, MediaTek modem, Titan M3 security hardware, and seven years of software support could make the Pixel 11a substantially more ambitious than earlier A-series models.
For now, however, these details remain based on leaks rather than official Google specifications. The reported spring 2027 launch window is still some distance away, so Google could change the hardware, pricing, colors, or software features before the Pixel 11a becomes official.
