It’s now official: Google will unveil the Pixel 6 series on October 19. Earlier in the week, official press images of the highly anticipated smartphone were shared by Evan Blass, showing the new Pixel Stand, and the accessories that Google will be announcing with the Pixel 6 series.
Now a rumor has it that Google will also announce its first foldable smartphone, Pixel Fold, and its very first smartwatch, Pixel Watch, at the Pixel 6 launch event.
The leak, shared by AI on Twitter, claims that Google will announce the Pixel Watch, Pixel Fold, and new Nest speakers at the October 19 event. The source also claims that Google may also announce the Pixel Tablet although that does not seem believable.
While it is surprising that Google is announcing its new Fold and Watch at the event, especially during the chip shortage and during the pandemic where there is very little physical press present at the event, both leaks Pixel Fold, and Pixel Watch have surfaced from time to time on the web in recent months.
Earlier this year, the popular Jon Prosser let slip the Pixel Watch. While he hasn’t had a good track record of smartwatch leaks (just see with the Apple Watch Series 7) this year, Prosser has shown a round Google smartwatch running the new Wear OS. However, no follow-up has been given to this rumor so far. But what we’ve heard about is the Google Pixel Fold.
