It was GPU Turbo Technology, official introduction, this is a soft and hard collaborative graphics acceleration technology.
Yu Chengdong said that GPU Turbo can increase the graphics processor efficiency by 60%. It is similar to the automotive turbocharger technology, which breaks the between EMUI systems, GPUs, and CPUs, and greatly increases the performance of mobile GPUs. The devices equipped with this technology can run popular games such as “The King’s Glory” and “Wildlands Action” at full frame.

In addition to increasing mobile gaming performance, the new technology can also reduce overall SOC power consumption by 30%, so mobile phones can play longer. In the official show data, GPU Turbo’s Honor is 2 frames higher than the iPhone X in the game and is 9 times more stable than it is.
In addition, GPU Turbo also supports HDR games, making the game more realistic and supporting custom effects enhancements. The official also stated that it will explore the application of GPU Turbo in AR, VR, and 3D interactions. GPU Turbo will first make it to the Honor Play smartphone that was announced today.
Other Honor Smartphone including Honor 10, Honor View 10, Honor 9 Lite and Honor 7X are confirmed to get this technological upgrade soon and some models of Huawei will also start upgrading from this month to support GPU Turbo technology.
