On December 19th, the official of Honor launched a pre-release campaign for the new generation Honor Power2 mobile phone via Weibo.
They released a core product power-saving poster, a long graphic showcasing media reviews on power-saving performance, and a new “Sunrise Orange” color scheme poster. They officially announced that this phone is equipped with the fourth-generation Qinghai Lake battery technology, with the battery capacity exceeding the 10,000mAh mark, reaching 10,080mAh, and breaking the record for battery capacity in mainstream smartphones.
In the official released chart showcasing the top-ranked battery life performance, the Honor Power2 topped the list in the battery life test databases of three technology media outlets – WHYLAB, New Review Technology, and Dangxiang Shi. It maintained a significant gap from the second-place finisher. The tests covered various scenarios such as daily video viewing, navigation, and intense gaming, fully demonstrating its battery life advantages.
In terms of appearance, apart from the officially announced “Sunrise Orange” color, according to blogger @Wanzi Bepisong’s previous revelation, this device will also offer two classic colors: Snowfield White and Midnight Black, to meet the aesthetic needs of different users. As the second-generation product of the Honor Power series, it continues the positioning of the previous generation as a “new species in light outdoor equipment”, and the warm and bright tone of the new color “Sunrise Orange” breaks the common perception of heaviness in large-battery devices.

At the configuration level, the current information indicates that the Honor Power2 will be equipped with a 6.79-inch 1.5K LTPS straight screen with a resolution of 2640×1200p. It is highly likely to continue the high-frequency PWM dimming and natural light protection eye-friendly technologies from the previous generation, enhancing the screen’s eye-protection ability and outdoor visibility.
In terms of the slim design, based on the processor configuration and release schedule, the industry generally speculates that the thickness of this device will be only 8. X mm. Previously, when the first-generation Honor Power was equipped with an 8000mAh battery, its thickness was 7.98 mm. This time, even with a 25% increase in battery capacity, the Honor Power2 still keeps the thickness within this range, demonstrating its optimization in stacking technology.
In terms of battery-related functions, the Honor Power2 will establish an all-round battery management system, including 80W super fast charging, 27W reverse charging, and intelligent charging engine. Among them, the 80W super fast charging can solve the problem of slow charging for large-capacity batteries, the 27W reverse charging can provide emergency power for headphones, watches and other devices outdoors, and the intelligent charging engine optimizes battery life through intelligent charging strategies, emergency power-saving modes and other software-level optimizations.
In terms of core performance, multiple sources indicate that the Honor Power2 is expected to be equipped with the new mid-range processor Dimensity 8500 from MediaTek.
The 10080mAh battery capacity of the Honor Power2 is a result of its long-term accumulation in battery technology. In March 2023, the Honor Magic5 series launched the first generation Qinghai Lake battery (with silicon-carbon anode technology), with a battery capacity of 5450mAh; the Magic6 series adopted the second generation Qinghai Lake battery, combined with the Dujiangyan power management system to overcome the problem of low-temperature battery life; in July 2024, the third generation Qinghai Lake battery increased the silicon content to over 10% and achieved an energy density of 821Wh/L, creating the configuration of the first-generation Honor Power “8000mAh + 7.98mm”; this fourth-generation Qinghai Lake battery has made further breakthroughs in material science and stacking technology.
Currently, the smartphone industry mainly focuses on “micro-innovation”. Honor Power2 has achieved a differentiated breakthrough with a battery capacity of 10080mAh. This device will be officially released in early January 2026, and more details of subsequent products will be gradually revealed.
