As an integral component of electronic cigarettes, proper maintenance of electronic cigarette vaporizers is crucial to ensure their longevity and optimal performance. Today, I will share some essential guidelines for effectively maintaining and using your E-Cigarette Atomizer.
Regularly Clean Condensation Build-up
During usage, the atomizer generates condensation, accumulating at the top of the atomization chamber and the flue. To prevent any issues caused by excessive condensation, it is essential to clean it promptly.
You can remove the E-Cigarette Atomizer and wipe it with a paper towel or tissue for oil-drop atomizers. However, dismantling finished atomizers is more complex, but you can use a method like flicking a thermometer to drain the condensation from the flue and chamber.
Excessive condensation, if left unattended, can lead to a sweet taste when inhaling, indicating the presence of accumulated condensation. It can also cause discoloration of the cotton, carbon deposits in the coil, and fried oil, reducing the atomizing core’s lifespan.
Regularly Clean the Atomizer
Some users may be concerned about residual flavors when changing e-liquids when using finished atomizers. Cleaning the atomizer can help address this issue. After emptying the tank, you can clean the liquid in the atomizer chamber and replace the atomizing core if possible.
For finished atomizers, it is recommended to disassemble and clean them after using one or two tanks of e-liquid. Pay special attention to cleaning the condensation in the atomization chamber, flue, and the liquid in the atomizer base if it has bottom air intake.
You can choose the cleaning method that suits your situation, such as wiping with a paper towel or cotton cloth or rinsing with clean water and drying with a hairdryer. However, avoid rinsing the finished atomizer core with water. Make sure all parts are arid before reassembling and using the atomizer.
Effective Cleaning for DIY Atomizers
Compared to finished atomizers, DIY atomizers have fewer non-cleanable components, making the cleaning process more thorough. You can disassemble the DIY atomizer, wipe it, rinse it with clean water, and then dry it with a hairdryer. If possible, use an ultrasonic cleaner for deeper cleaning.
The cleaning frequency depends on individual usage. For drip atomizers, perform deep cleaning each time you replace the coil—clean RTA atomizers after using one or two e-liquid tanks or replacing the lock.
Note: Washing coils with water is not recommended as it can speed up carbon deposits and rust. Dry-firing the rings to remove carbon deposits is a better approach.
Removing Lingering Odors
Strong-smelling e-liquids may leave residual odors even after wiping. Mix baking soda with warm water and soak the disassembled atomizer to address this. Alternatively, use an ultrasonic cleaning device to remove the lingering odors effectively.
Proper Maintenance and Storage
Apart from the main structural components, rubber rings and screws are crucial parts of the atomizer. When disassembling and assembling the screws, handle them carefully to avoid slippage or damaging the electrode column.
Applying a small amount of e-liquid to the apron for new atomizers can make inserting and removing parts smoother and prevent damage to the apron.
When not in use, store the E-Cigarette Atomizer vertically to prevent e-liquid leakage and close the air intake. For long periods of non-use, empty the tank and clean the atomizer. Remove the cotton or the entire atomization core for DIY oil storage atomizers. Clean the cotton and the whole atomizing heart after removal for drip atomizers to prevent any peculiar smell when using the atomizer again.
After cleaning, ensure all parts are dry to prevent rusting. For copper atomizers, use a hairdryer for drying. Store the atomizer in a sealed bag for prolonged periods of non-use to avoid patina formation.
By following these maintenance practices, your atomizer will remain in excellent condition, providing a satisfying vaping experience and preserving the flavor of your e-liquids. Treating your vaporizer carefully will extend its lifespan and ensure optimal performance throughout its usage.
