    HPI Maverick Microbe SC Review: How Much Real RC Performance Fits Into a 1/24 Truck?

    Instead of treating its tiny size as an excuse to simplify the chassis, HPI has packed the Microbe SC with hardware that looks more at home on a serious hobby-grade truck: an aluminum chassis plate, oil-filled shocks, metal drivetrain components, a sealed rear differential and fully proportional control.

    That combination makes the Microbe SC interesting for a reason that has little to do with its size.

    There is room to learn.

    You can learn how RWD behaves. You can learn how suspension damping changes handling. You can experiment with gearing. You can build a tighter course and improve your driving line.

    For someone entering the hobby, those characteristics may be more valuable than another few kilometers per hour of top speed.

    The HPI Maverick Microbe SC is a particularly good fit for someone who wants a small RC truck with genuine tuning potential.

    It should appeal to:

    It is less suitable for someone whose priority is maximum off-road capability.

    The HPI Maverick Microbe SC rc truck is interesting because it refuses to accept the usual limitations of a 1/24 RC truck.

    Its compact size makes it easy to use almost anywhere, but the hardware underneath is built around genuine RC principles: rear-wheel drive, proportional control, oil-filled shocks, aluminum chassis construction, metal drivetrain components, adjustable gearing and full bearing support.

    The result isn’t simply a tiny truck that looks good on a shelf.

    It’s a miniature platform that gives the driver something to learn.
