Ming Chi-Kuo reports that the Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro will have the HiSilicon Kirin 1020, which is boosting their performance by 50%. This SoC has not yet been debut, but according to the rumors, the Kirin 1020 chip is expected to be delivered on a large-scale in August this year. When Huawei may hold a new product launch in September.
Crazy performance and reduced consumption
According to the analyst, the Kirin 1020 has a code name Baltimore. This SoC is manufactured in a 5nm process, which offers 15% higher performance. While it also reduces power consumption by up to 30% and uses ARM Cortex-A78 architecture as well.

Another element revealed by Ming Chi-Kuo is that the Huawei Mate 40 will have new FreeForm lens technology. According to what has become known, they will be lenses with technology that reduces the distortion in wide-angle lenses.
Due to the FreeForm lens design, the camera of Huawei Mate 40 will display zero color deflection and vignette. So, in essence, the next flagships of the Chinese manufacturer will be photographic beasts, and they will take clearer and better photos with the wide-angle camera they will have.
