After months of hard work and research, the Chinese smartphone company Huawei is finally about to announce its Mate X folding smartphone. As evidence of the imminent launch, the device has emerged on the Chinese Agency TENAA platform.
In the past few months, in view of the launch that never took place, Mate X was already in transit by the Chinese certification body, but the changes to which Huawei has submitted it have clearly requested a new obligatory passage.
As usual, TENAA has also published a series of shots that portray the device, from which at least one difference can be deduced from the prototype shown by the Chinese manufacturer at the MWC and in the following months.
This is the power button located in the section that also houses the cameras, now apparently more flush with the body and marked by a red line, which makes it more visible. Without being able to touch it with hand, it is not possible to realize any other changes made, although some reports claim that Huawei has focused on the hinge, making it more solid.
It is hard to say if this new TENAA certification of Mate X is the prelude to an early commercialization in China, useful to test the goodness of the project and finish the testing in view of the international launch, or if Huawei does not want in any case to force the hand and prefer to take your time to make sure you avoid further trouble.
In what is suggested to the internal section, the new Mate X is presented with an 8-inch OLED screen and a 6.6-inch secondary. At the power level, we are located with the Kirin 980 as a coprocessor with three versions of 6GB / 8GB / 12GB RAM and 128GB / 256GB / 512GB of internal storage. The cameras are maintained with the 40MP + 16MP + 8MP configuration with the addition of the ToF sensor and a 4400mAh battery. In the coming weeks, we will surely know more.
