MediaTek recently announced the 5G-enabled Dimensity 700 platform. This SoC will be used in 5G smartphones for under $200, making the technology even more accessible to users. One of the first devices on this platform may be Huawei Nova 8, which, according to insiders, may soon go on sale.
The leaked specs were posted by reputable insider Digital Chat Station (@StationChat) on Twitter. According to information from the leak, in addition to the Dimensity 700, the Huawei Nova 8 will be equipped with a 6.5-inch display with FHD + resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate.
The model can get a 16MP front camera. The quad rear camera will incorporate a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP unit with wide-angle optics, and a pair of 2MP sensors. The informant reports the installation of a 4000mAh battery with support for the 40W fast charging function.
Yesterday, two smartphones were spotted at the TENAA and 3C certification centers: Huawei Mate X2 and an unknown CDL-AN50 smartphone. The second device fits the information from the leak, which means that its release will take place in the near future.
There is no exact information about the series affiliation, but the budget 5G smartphone may come out as the Huawei Nova 8 or become one of the Y or Enjoy series. It will become known soon.
It is worth mentioning that the digital blogger @长安数码君 revealed that the online conference of Huawei Nova 8 series is approaching and is expected to be released next month.
