Huawei P40 and P40 Pro: Everything We Know So Far

In early 2019, Huawei introduced its flagship P-series, consisting of two models – P30 and P30 Pro. In terms of achievements, the Huawei P30 series has set many standards in the smartphone industry and it’s time to move on to other P-series smartphones – the Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro. Huawei P40 fully represented the P30 series. It is no secret that this new series will inherit some elements from the Mate 30 series.

However, we still have a few months ahead of us before we get an official statement on the P40 series. But on the other hand, this does not prevent anything from getting new and new leaks of information, which slowly tell us what to expect in the future. Below you can see all the news, leaks, rumors and speculations about the Huawei P40 series.

According to information, the Huawei P40 Pro will have curved edges on all four sides of the phone. The Huawei P40 will be equipped with a flat-screen as usual. Both displays receive a dual “bullet” to accommodate selfie cameras and sensors.

The P40 series comes with a new matrix camera design and could take over the Mate 30 camera technology. Huawei P40: Triple back camera and dual selfie camera. Huawei P40 Pro: Features Quad rear camera and dual selfie camera. Huawei P40 Premium or High edition: Features Penta rear camera and dual selfie camera. According to reports, Huawei P40 Pro comes with a 10X periscope optical zoom and a P40 with 5X optical.

latest Huawei flag processor – Kirin 990 and Kirin 990 5G will be used for 4G and 5G variants. Like its predecessor, the Huawei P40 is likely to start with the 6/128GB variant and will acquire both the P40 and the P40 Pro variant with 8GB of RAM. Looking at this trend, Huawei can present a version with 12GB of RAM, but this is not yet confirmed.

The battery in the P40 Pro should be upgraded to 4500mAh and 4200mAh to P40. We should be assisted by a new 50W or 55W fast charging technology. On the other hand, both models support the new 27W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. Huawei P40 and P40 Pro are almost identical in design, except for the curved Pro version, both phones use the same design with a curved edge on the back of the phone.

The underside consists of a USB Type C port and a primary microphone (without a 3.5mm jack). On the right side it has volume buttons and a power switch, the other side stays clean. Both Huawei P40 and P40 Pro come in Black, Blush Gold, Silver Frost, Deep Sea Blue, and Ice White.

The Huawei P40 series will use open-source Android 10 based on EMUI 10. These flagship smartphones will have Huawei mobile services and applications pre-installed. Currently, Huawei has not made any official announcement about the release of the Huawei P40 series, but Huawei CEO Yu Yu said the company will launch the Huawei P40 series at the end of March 2020 at an event in Paris.
