Huawei has officially begun promoting its upcoming WATCH GT 7 smartwatch series ahead of its anticipated launch, unveiling new advertising posters across major cities featuring Chinese actor Wu Lei as the global spokesperson for Huawei’s Sports & Health product lineup.
The promotional campaign carries the slogan “Set Off Right Now,” highlighting Huawei’s continued focus on fitness, outdoor activities, and healthier lifestyles through its wearable ecosystem.
The Huawei WATCH GT 7 series is expected to make its official debut during the company’s Huawei All-Scenario New Product Launch Event, scheduled for August 5. The event is also expected to introduce the flagship MPV from the Zunjie Times brand, alongside several new Huawei smart devices, expanding the company’s connected ecosystem.

Building on the Success of the WATCH GT 6
While Huawei has yet to reveal the specifications of the WATCH GT 7, expectations are high following the success of last year’s Huawei WATCH GT 6 series.
Launched in October 2025, the WATCH GT 6 lineup introduced several notable upgrades, including Huawei’s proprietary Xuanji Sensing System, enhanced health monitoring, and expanded smart features. The series was available in 41mm and 46mm case sizes, allowing users to choose the model that best suited their preferences.
The WATCH GT 6 also supported a wide range of intelligent features, including:
- Contactless payments via Alipay tap-to-pay (available in supported markets)
- Huawei’s Starlight digital car key functionality for compatible vehicles
- Comprehensive health and fitness tracking
- Long battery life optimized for everyday use
Enhanced Fitness and Cycling Features
Huawei placed particular emphasis on sports tracking with the WATCH GT 6. The smartwatch supports Bluetooth connectivity with various third-party cycling accessories, including:
- Heart rate monitors
- Speed sensors
- Cadence sensors
- Power meters
It can also broadcast the wearer’s real-time heart rate to compatible cycling devices, providing a more comprehensive training experience for cyclists.
In addition, Huawei introduced AI-powered workout analysis, offering users detailed insights into training load, overall physical condition, recovery status, and personalized recommendations to improve athletic performance.

Advanced Safety Capabilities
The WATCH GT 6 also debuted a newly developed high-performance IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) sensor, enabling more advanced motion detection.
Among its safety features is automatic fall detection, which can recognize potential accidents and prompt the wearer to confirm whether assistance is required. If no response is received or emergency assistance is requested, the watch can connect to a paired smartphone via Bluetooth to initiate an emergency call or notify pre-selected emergency contacts, depending on regional availability and device settings.
What to Expect from the WATCH GT 7
Although Huawei has not officially disclosed the WATCH GT 7’s hardware or software improvements, the company’s teaser campaign suggests the new smartwatch will continue to strengthen Huawei’s position in the premium smartwatch market by expanding its health monitoring, sports tracking, and intelligent wearable capabilities.
With the official unveiling just around the corner, more details regarding the WATCH GT 7’s design, new features, pricing, and international availability are expected to be announced during Huawei’s August 5 launch event.
