According to media reports, the release time of Apple’s iPad Pro 2024 has been delayed to May due to the lack of supply of OLED panels.
The iPad Pro 2024 comes in 11-inch and 13-inch versions, with the 11-inch OLED panel supplied by Samsung and the 13-inch OLED panel by LG Display.
The report pointed out that the yield of 11-inch OLED panels supplied by Samsung is insufficient, which is the main reason for the delay in the release of iPad Pro 2024. To fix the problem, Apple diverted some of its 11-inch orders to LG Display.
At present, after Apple’s quality test, LG Display’s 11-inch OLED panel has met the requirements. After the adjustment, about 60% of iPad Pro 2024 OLED orders will be supplied by LG Display.
It is worth mentioning that the iPad Pro 2024 uses a dual-series OLED panel. This screen structure has two emission layers, compared to the single-layer OLED panel, the double-layer structure of the screen brightness can be increased by 2 times, the service life can be extended by 4 times.
