A Foldable Design Inspired by Traditional Chinese Ceramics
The Samsung W27 builds on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra platform while introducing a more distinctive exterior for the Chinese premium market. Its two color options draw inspiration from traditional Chinese ceramic glazes: Lake Blue references jilan blue glaze, while Sunset Red takes inspiration from jihong red glaze.
The rear panel uses Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3. Samsung also gives the camera area a distinctive frosted, semi-transparent gold appearance. Gold embossed detailing on the Armor Aluminum frame and a slim hinge cover with a brushed-metal finish add to the phone’s executive aesthetic.

The signature “Heart of the World” emblem remains on the back, preserving a defining feature of Samsung’s W series. Together, these details set the W27 apart from a standard foldable phone by emphasizing craftsmanship and a more formal business-oriented design.
Despite its premium materials, the handset is relatively light for a large-screen foldable. It weighs approximately 215 grams and measures around 4.1mm thick when unfolded, increasing to about 8.9mm when folded.
The W27 continues Samsung’s focus on slimmer, lighter foldable designs, a direction also highlighted in our earlier report on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7’s lightweight foldable design.
6.5-Inch Cover Screen and 8-Inch Main Display
The W27 features a 6.5-inch outer display for quick interactions and an 8-inch inner screen for tasks that benefit from a larger workspace. Both displays support an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, while peak brightness reaches 3,000 nits.
The large internal display is suited to multitasking, reading documents, editing content and viewing multiple applications side by side. The cover screen, meanwhile, allows users to handle everyday tasks without opening the phone every time.
Samsung has also reinforced the lower section of the inner display with a dual-layer titanium shock-absorbing structure. The design combines a titanium-alloy film with a titanium plate to improve structural support around the foldable panel.

As with any foldable device, the screen’s long-term durability will depend on real-world use. Buyers should still follow Samsung’s care guidance and avoid excessive pressure on the flexible display.
Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy Powers the W27
At the heart of the Samsung W27 is Qualcomm’s fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy flagship processor. Paired with 16GB of RAM, the platform is designed to support demanding applications, multitasking and AI-assisted features.
The two storage options—512GB and 1TB—give buyers flexibility depending on how much space they need for business documents, photos, videos and installed applications.
The W27 runs One UI 9 and supports Samsung’s Galaxy AI features. Its foldable design also enables multi-window functionality, allowing users to work with several applications on the expansive inner screen. For professionals who regularly switch between communication, documents and reference material, this combination could be one of the phone’s most useful features.
Actual AI feature availability may depend on language, region, software version and supported applications.

200MP Main Camera and 8K Video Recording
Samsung equips the W27 with a triple rear camera system led by a 200-megapixel main camera. The setup also includes a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera.
The telephoto lens supports 3x optical zoom, while the overall camera system supports video recording at up to 8K resolution. This combination covers everyday photography, wide-angle scenes and zoomed-in subjects without requiring a separate camera.
The high-resolution main sensor may also provide additional flexibility when cropping images, although final image quality depends on more than megapixel count alone. Sensor performance, lens quality, image processing and shooting conditions all contribute to the result.
For a premium business foldable, the camera system adds versatility for users who want a single device for work documents, travel photography and everyday video capture.
5,000mAh Battery and Up to 27 Hours of Video Playback
The Samsung W27 houses a 5,000mAh battery. Samsung states that the device can deliver up to approximately 27 hours of continuous video playback under its specified testing conditions.
Actual battery life will vary with screen brightness, network reception, application usage, refresh-rate behavior and other settings. The large internal display can be particularly useful for productivity, but extended use of a bright, high-refresh-rate screen may affect endurance.
For users who spend long periods away from a charger, battery performance will be an important consideration alongside the phone’s slim folded profile and overall weight.
Satellite Communication, eSIM and Physical SIM Support
One of the W27’s notable features is its support for Tiantong satellite communication. According to the launch information, the phone can provide satellite voice calls and text messaging when terrestrial mobile network coverage is unavailable, subject to service availability and applicable conditions.

The handset also supports eSIM services from domestic Chinese mobile operators while retaining one physical SIM card slot. This arrangement gives users more flexibility when managing mobile connections.
Satellite communication and eSIM functions can depend on carrier support, account activation, location and local regulations. Buyers should confirm eligibility and service conditions with their operator before relying on these features.
Samsung W27: A Premium Foldable for Business Users
Samsung W27 combines an 8-inch foldable display, a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, a 200MP main camera and a 5,000mAh battery with a design inspired by traditional Chinese ceramics. Its titanium-reinforced inner-screen structure, Galaxy AI support and satellite communication capabilities further distinguish it as a premium business-focused device.
Pricing starts at 18,999 yuan for the 16GB + 512GB version and rises to 21,999 yuan for the 16GB + 1TB model. With reservations already open and sales scheduled for November 13 in China, the W27 targets buyers who want a large-screen foldable with an executive design and a broad set of productivity features.
Its appeal will ultimately depend on how much value buyers place on the exclusive exterior, large inner display and specialized connectivity features compared with less expensive foldable smartphones.
