iPhone SE 2 Could End Up Being Called iPhone XE and Arrive With a 4.8-Inch OLED Screen

The compact iPhone SE with a 4-inch display was released in 2016. Since then, the iPhone line has been updated regularly, but the successor to the SE has not appeared. Everything will change this year – Apple is preparing to release the iPhone XE.

Yesterday Apple announced a reduction in the price of iPhone XR in India, making it more interesting. Before the XR, the iPhone SE was the affordable Apple phone in many places around the world. Now, new information indicates that a successor to the iPhone SE can go the extra mile this year, called the iPhone XE.

The source of the PC-Tablet portal, which is closely connected with the Foxconn plant in India, confirmed that in the third quarter of 2019 a new ultra-compact Apple smartphone will be released, previously appearing in rumors as the iPhone SE 2.

The name of the iPhone XE is not accidental. The letter “X” speaks of the transition to a new modern design with a frameless screen and a “bang” on top, like the current iPhone models. This is confirmed by the source, who noted the presence of a 4.8-inch AMOLED-display and Face ID sensors above it.

The fingerprint scanner will disappear, but the classic aluminum case will remain. The rear camera, like the iPhone XR, will have one 12MP with f / 1.8 aperture. Regarding the data processor is not, but given the presence of a facial recognition system, it can be assumed that the iPhone XE will receive an A12 Bionic or even a more powerful chip.

The iPhone XE will be released in several versions with different memory sizes at prices ranging from $600 to $800. Most likely, it will be presented at the traditional autumn presentation together with the new generation XS and XS Max.
