On August 6th, Igeekphone reported that the blogger Digital Chat Station revealed that the Xiaomi Pad 8 series is expected to make its debut on the same stage as the Xiaomi 16 series. This means that the Xiaomi Pad 8 series could be launched as early as September.

It is reported that the Xiaomi Pad 8 series will include at least two models. The standard version is code-named yupei and the Pro version is code-named piano. This series features an LCD screen with a size ranging from 11 to 12 inches. Xiaomi will bring some exclusive gaming features. This will be the most powerful Xiaomi pad, equipped with a large-capacity battery and supporting ultra-fast flash charging.
In terms of core configuration, these two new models do not feature the self-developed Xuanjie O1 chip from Xiaomi. Instead, they have chosen the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship platform. Currently, only the Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro 12.5-inch and the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra in the Xiaomi tablet series are equipped with the Xuanjie O1.
Previously, Lei Jun, the founder of Xiaomi, stated that when developing the Xuanjie O1, Xiaomi never expected it to perform so well, which is why the total number of chips for the entire Xuanjie O1 was not set enough.
In addition, the Xiaomi Pad 8 series will be equipped with the brand-new Pengpai OS system. Currently, the Pengpai OS tablet version already supports PC-level Office software, such as CAD drawing software, WPS Office, CAJViewer, etc., providing a PC-level document editing experience. At the same time, it offers functions like AI-assisted writing and AI-generated PPT.
It is worth noting that the Pengpai OS also supports opening 145 file formats. Commonly used file formats by designers such as PS and 3D models are also supported, facilitating the display of creative ideas.
