KiiBOOM Breeze 75 Worth $149? A Comprehensive Review

Habib QaziBy Habib QaziJanuary 22, 2025
Facebook Twitter Pinterest LinkedIn Tumblr Email

Today, we’re diving into a detailed review of the KiiBOOM Breeze 75, a $149 mechanical keyboard that promises a premium experience with its sleek design, tri-mode connectivity, and some exciting features. As always, this review is unbiased, even though KiiBOOM has sponsored the review. I’ve spent some serious time with this board, and I’m here to share all my thoughts on what it brings.

    UnboxingKiiboom Breeze 75

Unboxing the Breeze 75 was also a treat. KiiBOOM didn’t skimp on accessories—you’ll find everything from a microfiber cloth to a keycap puller and switch puller, plus some extra spare parts just in case. With a couple of color options, you can pick the one that fits your vibe. But how does it all come together in real-world use? In this review, we’ll dig into the performance and the finer details. Stick around!

    Design and Build

Right out of the box, the KiiBOOM Breeze 75 exudes a premium feel. The board features a clean, minimalist design with a top panel made of anodized aluminum and a transparent acrylic bottom. The contrast of these materials gives the Breeze 75 a refined look that catches the eye while maintaining practicality. It’s sturdy yet not overly heavy, making it portable but still solid enough to feel substantial.Kiiboom Breeze 75

One standout feature is the CNC-machined aluminum top panel, which enhances durability and helps distribute the keyboard’s weight. The back of the keyboard houses the large, sleek battery compartment, which is cleverly designed to blend seamlessly with the rest of the keyboard’s aesthetics. Four rubber pads ensure stability, preventing unnecessary slipping during use.

The knurled aluminum multifunctional knob adds both form and function, offering tactile feedback when rotated. It’s perfect for adjusting volume or changing backlight colors, and it provides a satisfying user experience each time you interact with it.

    Gasket Mount DesignKiiboom Breeze 75

One of the KiiBOOM Breeze 75’s most intriguing features is its gasket mount system. The silicone gaskets provide a level of bounce and flexibility that enhances the typing experience without sacrificing stability. Paired with the sound-dampening materials, including Poron foam and IXPE switch pads, the typing feel is smooth, quiet, and satisfying.

This design choice not only improves typing comfort but also helps reduce the amount of noise that typically comes from the keypresses, resulting in a quieter, more refined sound profile. While the board doesn’t have flex cuts on the plate, the silicone gaskets do a remarkable job of absorbing vibrations, creating a unique cushioned feel during long typing sessions.

    Switches

The KiiBOOM Breeze 75 is equipped with KiiBOOM’s proprietary Matcha Latte switches, available in a variety of actuation forces. The black and white models feature a 45g operating force, offering a smooth linear feel that’s ideal for both typing and gaming. The switches are housed in a full PBT shell, which not only ensures durability but also contributes to the board’s overall clean acoustics. These switches offer a balanced typing experience—smooth and satisfying, with minimal wobble. If you’re someone who appreciates a responsive yet quiet switch, the Matcha Latte switches will likely feel right at home.

    Tri-Mode Connectivity

The KiiBOOM Breeze 75 supports tri-mode connectivity, a feature that has quickly become one of the standout elements of this keyboard. Whether you prefer the stability of a wired connection, the freedom of Bluetooth, or the reliability of 2.4GHz wireless, this keyboard has you covered.

    Wired Connectivity

The Breeze 75 connects via USB-C, which is a welcome standard. It’s fast, responsive, and ultra-reliable. I didn’t encounter any lag during my testing—whether gaming or typing, the wired connection is rock solid. The USB-C cable is braided and sturdy, with an attachment for a dongle if you need to go that route, though I mainly stuck to the direct connection.

    Bluetooth 5.0

Switching over to Bluetooth was just as seamless as I’d hoped. Pairing with my laptop, phone, and tablet was painless. I had no trouble switching between devices either. One of the coolest features of the Breeze 75 is the ability to switch between multiple devices with a simple toggle. The Bluetooth connection held strong even when I moved around the room, with no noticeable dropouts or lag. This is perfect for anyone who uses the keyboard across different devices, making it highly versatile for both work and play.

    2.4GHz Wireless

The 2.4GHz wireless connection was equally impressive. Setting up the dongle was straightforward, and I got a stable, low-latency connection with no issues during gaming sessions. There’s no noticeable lag, which is crucial for gaming and real-time tasks, and the connection feels just as reliable as wired.

    Smooth Transition Between Devices

One of the best aspects of this tri-mode connectivity is the seamless transition between devices. I’ve tested switching between my desktop, tablet, and laptop with ease. With Bluetooth, I could hop from typing an email on my laptop to drafting notes on my tablet, with zero disruptions. The switch is nearly instant, and the keyboard doesn’t require re-pairing with each device.

    RGB Customization

RGB enthusiasts will appreciate the 22 customizable lighting effects that the Breeze 75 offers, along with 6 backlight effects. The bottom housing provides ambient RGB lighting, adding an extra layer of flair to the design. The RGB effects are vibrant and visually striking, and you can personalize the lighting to suit your desk setup or mood.

The addition of a south-facing LED configuration ensures compatibility with most keycaps, allowing the RGB lights to shine through beautifully without overwhelming the overall look. Whether you prefer static colors or dynamic patterns, the Breeze 75 gives you the flexibility to make your keyboard a standout piece on your desk.

    Battery

The Breeze 75 packs a dual 4000mAh battery (totaling 8000mAh), which is a substantial boost in power and longevity. I’ve been using it for a couple of days without needing to recharge, and that’s using it in all three modes. For my daily use (writing, browsing, and some gaming), I could easily go for several days before needing to plug it in.

When connected via Bluetooth or 2.4GHz wireless, the keyboard enters a low-power mode when idle, preserving battery life. Even after long periods of non-use, I was able to quickly resume typing or gaming without needing to recharge.

    Software Customization

The Kiiboom Breeze 75 comes with software that lets you fully customize the keyboard to your liking. You can rebind keys, set up macros, and tweak the RGB settings. The software is intuitive, with a clean interface that lets you change your settings easily. It also has cloud support, which means you can save your profiles and transfer them between keyboards—perfect for those who own multiple Kiiboom boards.

In terms of macros, the software allows you to record mouse clicks and keystrokes, which is a useful feature for both productivity and gaming. The one-function layer is a bit limiting for some users, but it works well for most basic tasks.

Conclusion: Is the KiiBOOM Breeze 75 Worth It?

At $149, the KiiBOOM Breeze 75 provides exceptional value for its price. The combination of premium materials, innovative gasket mount design, long-lasting battery, and tri-mode connectivity makes it a standout in the compact mechanical keyboard market. The typing experience is a joy, thanks to the thoughtfully engineered gaskets and sound-dampening features, and the aesthetic appeal of the RGB lighting and clean design is undeniable.

Whether you’re a gamer, typist, or anyone in between, the KiiBOOM Breeze 75 is a solid choice that delivers on performance without breaking the bank. The only caveat might be the lack of flex cuts on the plate, but the gasket system largely mitigates this concern.
