Since Android 8.0 OS released, there are many smartphones which have upgraded to Android 8.0 OS, even Oneplus 5 has also upgraded to Android 8.0 beta version, but right now Oneplus 5T Android 8.0 version has finally come out.
Yesterday Oneplus official forum released Android 8.0 first version Hydrogen OS for Oneplus 5T first edition update announcement.
There are some new features to upgrade to Android 8.0 OS. For example:
1.Add PIP (Picture in Picture) function
2.Add auto-fill function
3.Add smart Text selection
In addition, new OS also optimizes app short-cut menu, integrated icon and app short-cut keys, shot on Oneplus adds ‘Upload new image ‘ function. But currently there are some issues to be compatible, such as Wechat fingerprint payment, which can not be used.
Upgrading method:
This time the update only support ROM upgrade, not OTA.
ROM upgrade method: Put the ROM to the total category, getting into Settings->system update->click on the top right->set up icon->choose the ROM to upgrade
Note: This time from Hydrogen 7.1 Stable OS to Hydrogen 8.0 public version, there is no need to wipe data and cache partition, after upgrading to public version, no stable version will be received by OTA, but public version will get OTA notice, re-flash the phone to Hydrogen 7.1 OS.
