OnePlus 5T vs. Huawei Honor V10: Which One to Choose?

OnePlus had launched the OnePlus 5T with full screen design and flagship specs in June last year. Few months later, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor had unveiled the similarly priced Honor V10 flagship phone with full screen design. The Spring Festival is fast approaching in China and it could be very good time to avail any of these phones. Which one should a customer choose between OnePlus 5T and Honor V10?

OnePlus 5T features a 6-inch Optic AMOLED screen by Samsung that supports FHD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It offers slightly higher screen-to-body ratio than Honor V10. It comes with support for DCI-P3 and sRGB color gamut that is not available on the Honor V10. On the other side, the Honor V10 features a 5.99-inch IPS LCD display that produces FHD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio.

The Kirin 970 chipset that comes with dedicated NPU for handling AI tasks is available inside the Honor V10. It is available in 4 GB / 64 GB and 6 GB / 128 GB models. The OnePlus 5T features a highly potent Snapdragon 835 SoC but does not include NPU processor. Its variants include 6 GB / 64 GB and 8 GB / 128 GB.

The OP5T has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner whereas the Honor V10 has it on the front. Both the smartphones are equipped with dual rear cameras. The Honor V10 includes 16-megapixel RGB sensor and 20-megapixel monochrome sensor in its dual camera setup. On the other side, the OP5T has 16-megapixel primary sensor that is coupled by 20-megapixel depth sensor. Cameras on both phones are capable of capturing stellar images in day and dim-light conditions.

The Honor V10 has a 3,750mAh battery with 5V/4.5A charging support. The OnePlus 5T comes with 3,000mAh battery with Dash Charge fast charging technology. The OP5T supports global networks whereas the V10 is built to support network bands in China.

The 6 GB / 64 GB and 8 GB / 128 GB models of OP5T are respectively priced at $499 and $569. On the other side, the 4 GB / 64 GB and 6 GB / 128 GB models of Honor V10 respectively cost ~$410 and ~$530.
